How to Install Minecraft on a Chromebook - 2021

How to install Minecraft on a Chromebook? In this tutorial, I show you how to easily install and play Minecraft on your Chromebook for free. To do this we use Linux on your Chromebook and can install Minecraft in less than 5 minutes. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions while you install Minecraft on a Chromebook.

Follow the steps below to install Minecraft on Chromebook:
1. Open the settings for your Chromebook and search Linux.
2. Once Linux comes up select Turn On.
3. Go through the menus to setup Linux on your Chromebook.
5. Once you have downloaded Minecraft, move the downloaded file in to the Linux files folder on your Chromebook.
6. Once the Linux Terminal opens, type the following command to ensure Linux is up-to-date on your Chromebook and hit enter.
sudo apt update
7. Extract the Minecraft file by typing the following command and hitting enter.
8. Install Minecraft by typing the following command and hitting enter.
sudo apt -f install
9. You can now play Minecraft on your Chromebook.

I've been trying to install it, and at first it was going well (I could easily download the mincraft file, install linux, transfer the file, open the terminal) but when i went to type sudo dpkg -i Minecraft.deb command, it said there was an error installing it. Do you know what might be happening?

Everything went perfectly, everything installed, but for some reason when I click on the Minecraft Launcher icon, it just doesn't open. I tried uninstalling and doing the process again, but was unsuccessful. Help would be appreciated.

your tutorial worked, i downloaded it and i have the launcher available but it says the windows version is not supported by my device, and when i try to create a java acount it says 'failed to create account' do i need to download java on my chromebook? and if so how do i do that? thanks

I've installed everything, no problems at all, until I tried opening the launcher. It just sit there loading and loading and won't budge. Any ideas?

This vid actually helps. I’m now able to play Minecraft but if it doesn’t work for anyone else then u probably have something wrong on ur computer or it’s not the right computer
