My 100% absolute favorite aspect of the show is that they went with the concept of the Empire still being out there and dangerous. The fleet destroyed at Endor was probably like 0.005% of their total ships across the galaxy. Billions and billions of people, you could spend 100 years hunting them all down and still barely make a dent in their numbers. It's not like the entire Empire would just crumble and disappear the second that Palpatine died. Plus we get death troopers. I really like Gideon, he's gonna be a good villain. The Mandalorian is exactly what I was hoping Disney would do with the franchise. Using the Star Wars universe as a backdrop/setting to tell all kinds of new stories about new people, without having 14 umpteen million connections to the movies.

Imagine that... a director who RESPECTS the source material and actually knows what they are doing with a Star Wars property. Not just out to shock and divide the fanbase. Imagine that! That was a GREAT reveal.

I always wanted to know more of the crystal in the darksaber. I oculdn't imagine the Jedi inducting the Mandalorian 'after' but possible 'before'. Maybe the crystal called to him and that's how the Jedi felt his force ability.

yea the expanded universe is what made fall in love as a kid. My mom bought me this huge encyclopedia of star wars lore(was unfortunatley stolen at summer camp) and that was like the first time I finished a big book by myself, I literally could not stop myself from reading the old republic stuff and post episode 6 to a lesser extent it was so fucking interesting I legit would get in trouble occasionally for reading at dumb times. Since we are listing favorite movies by the way mine is a tie between ep 6 and ep 3 (i know i know, just ask me why)

I still think you should do videos on the Expanded Universe stories. Like the Thrawn trilogy, Dark Empire, New Jedi Order, the Darth Bane trilogy, Darth Plagueis etc.
