How To Configure Port Forwarding Network Feature On Oracle VirtualBox
Показать описание
In this video, I will do a walkthrough on the steps to configure port forwarding on VirtualBox Oracle Linux guest. Port forwarding is a way of allowing access to private networks from outside. In this case, we want to be able to ssh into the guest VM from the host machine or any other PC on the network.
In the video I will do the following;
Enable Port Forwarding on VirtualBox
Add the forwarding rule on VirtualBox
Test the Configuration
Note that on other Operating Systems like Solaris you may need to edit other system files to complete the configuration. On Linux, you also need to check sshd and verify whether it is allowed on the VM firewall
service sshd status
firewall-cmd --state
firewall-cmd --get-services
In my case, the OS side is already sorted.
