Review: 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec (Manual)

I spend a week with the 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec w/ Tech package and a manual transmission to see what it's like to live with the new Integra. This one has an as-tested price of $36,895. While it is about $8k more than the Civic Si that it's based on, you get a lot of nice upgrades and luxury features, and it's still $6-8k less than the Mercedes CLA, Audi A3 and BMW 228i Gran Coupe. In this context, it's still a great value, but it has one other competitor that puts it in a tough spot, the Mazda3 Hatchback. Overall though, the 2023 Integra is a fun little car and I'm happy Acura brought it back. What do you think about the Integra? Thanks to Acura for providing this vehicle to review!

My Honda dealership is asking $41k for the Civic SI. My Acura dealership is asking $39k for the Integra. Pretty much a no-brainer in this case.

I would honestly take this over the si for the sound system, looks, the hatch, the gauges(for US) and the interior

I personally love the new Integra. I’d definitely consider this if I were in the market. Thanks for the review, as always. I also enjoyed the assessment you and Beth provided of the interior.

Hey Matt, Yes AHC Garage did a set of dyno runs on the Integra and it came back at nearly 200 HP to the wheels. So yes the Integra is underrated.

Hope a Type S or even a Type R comes out for the Integra. Remember everyone the previous generation Integra was not the only one, there were other Integra generations before it. Also they were always based on the Civic.😁

As much as I think that this car is a bit pricey, I do kind of want one. I like the styling, the hatch, and manual gearbox.

Also that price comparison chart really put things into perspective.

This just makes me even happier that I bought my 10th Gen Si for 22K OTD and it comes with everything that they took away from the 11th Gen Si...heated seats, adaptive dampers, shift lights, dual zone climate, temp gauge, full digital center cluster, etc...I would never pay 30K+ for a civic Si that took away all those features while increasing the price

For an option auto they should have gone with the 8 speed DCT. Instead it got a CVT. Good job Acura, you took a perfectly fine stepped transmission and put a slush box in place of it…

If you want a good reliable fun daily driver then I would recommend the Mazda 3 Manual.
No regrets at all and it still manages to feel luxurious/sporty.

heated seats, adaptive suspension, extra tech, and most importantly the hatch are why I would go with the Integra. The only reason I'm not buying a Integra immediately is I'm waiting on pricing for the Type R and GR Corolla.

Well said Matt. I agree with you that the integra is not worth $9k more than the civic si. Also, most people shopping for the European luxury cars most likely aren't looking at Acuras.

I was going to wait until I was at work to watch but too excited!!! Okay now we have a true visual it looks great the hatch brings it back to the original I think I like it but If they come out with GSR edition with the 2.0 turbo I’ll love it🤓
Thank you Matt for the great content!!!

If it was actually going to be sold for $30, 000 versus 40k plus with dealer mark-ups it I would actually be interested, won't be surprised if in a year we see the market tank and the price of this Acura follow suit.

I cross shopped the Civic Sport Touring Hatchback before buying my Integra A-Spec Tech. Every Honda dealer in my area either didn't have a Civic Hatchback, or if they did, they had $3000 to $5000 of "dealer options" on the car and wouldn't come off MSRP. So my total price before TTL on the Civic was $36k to $38k. I picked up a CPO Integra with 4500 miles for $36k. So for the same money as the Civic, I get adaptive suspension, better seats, the fabulous ELS 3D sound system, 20 more HP, and an interior that's not black on black.

When reviewing cars, you have to look at the value proposition from what you can actually purchase the cars for. For example, that single Civic Si that is for same in my area has a "market adjustment" of $5000.

I looked at both the 2024 Integra Aspec Tech 6spd MT and the 2024 Mazda 3 Premium 6spd MT. I ended up buying the Integra. The pricing for the Integra was about $7500 more than the 3 but overall the Integra is a much more mature vehicle. It drives better and has more room inside and out. I'm 65 but if I were 35, I think I might have chosen the 3.
