Easy DIY Garden Row Cover Hoops:
🔨Creating hoops for your Garden beds is probably one of the simplest and most effective investments you can make for your garden.
🪴Both the conduit and PVC options are easy to create. However, to utilize the EMT conduit you will need a way to bend it to match the width of your bed. You can find pipe benders for sale or you can make a jig like I did to perfectly match the width of your garden beds.
🐛I leave my hoops up all year long.
In the spring and fall, I apply bug neting to protect my crops from pests.
☀️During the hottest summer months, I can apply shade cloth which is also useful for transplanting and starting fall veggies in late summer.
🍂And in fall, winter, and early spring I apply a piece of plastic to make a mini green house, provide frost protection and extend my season.
