Kewl idea. Just a suggestion. I was part owner of a construction company in Florida, where it rains every day at noon just about. When you'r4e using visqueen, which is the plastic you're using here, take the 1x2 and roll it underneath the visqueen a few times then pull that tight when you've removed enough slack. That does a couple things. This will remove a lot of the moisture seepage, keep the wood from rotting and create an even better barrier for pests. Another trick is to use two 1x2's and loop the visqueen under the first 1x2 and over the second. That would allow you to more easily make adjustments and it braces the plastic between two breaks creating an even distribution for the plastic to be held making it much less likely to expand at the screws and tear. Another thing you can do is add a small lip with an overhang of the plastic using 1x4 strips on the three sides that don't have hinges. That will create a better run off and keep the wood under the plastic from rotting for much longer. Simple tricks to make your building last longer. Hope this helps a bit man! 😁

The PERFECT instructional video! It's difficult to find videos that don't have all that jibber jabber BS and you end up wasting so much time trying to find the info you need. This was presented CLEAR, CONCISE and EASY to understand, even for a beginner! THANK YOU!

I know this video is 2 years old, but I just wanted to let you know that it's still far reaching and much appreciated. It was very easy to follow with clear and simple instructions. I'm new to your channel, but have been enjoying every video you so thoughtfully put together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have learned a ton from you!

I really can't thank you enough! Cut length for arc made so simple for math-deficient. Width div/2 x 3.14 (pi). Matter-of-fact genius. So grateful.

WOW, this is the best hoop house video I have ever seen. I am 64 year old grandmother and will be making the box and the hoop house this weekend. You are such a great teacher. Wish me luck. I am in Ohio and my plan is to grow all of my salad vegetables through the winter for my grandson and myself. I look forward to your future videos!

I really appreciate you breaking down the math and teaching us in a format that we can pause, take notes, and then apply to not only this project but many more. Thankyou!

I've been avoiding watching this video for a couple weeks as it keeps showing up in my youtube recommendations. Afterall, how difficult is it to build a PVC hoop cover for a raised bed? Nothing to it and who needs a video? Boy, am I glad I finally took the time to watch. It's a great video and demonstrates a simple, reliable, way to accomplish the task - far better than I would have done trying to rig something up on the fly, . Thank you!

outstanding job! I watch almost ZERO YouTube because I can't stand silly people who go too slow and yip-yap too much. Love the way you deliver concise and clear visual instructions.

I saw a great idea on another hoop house video:. Install an extra handle on the raised bed below the handle for the hinged top. That way if it's windy, you can loop a bungy cord through to keep closed (or to keep critters out).

Prigione...😁
I watched this video last year and made 3 hinged hoop houses for my elevated raised garden beds.
You're a great instructor, I had a TON of fun building them and they worked! ❤️

I just love your energy and confidence. Your personality seems so genuine and likable. I could totally see you having your own gardening show on a major network. Please stay sincere. Confidence does not have to equal arrogance. The projects you choose to film are fun and engaging.

Great video! I appreciate that every minute of the video was instruction so we didn't have to wait while you went for supplies, do a lot of cutting, etc. All pure how-tos! Great job! Thanks.

I watched this video the first time a couple of years ago. I want to thank you for your design. I have four that I built exactly like yours and they have held up great.

THANK You! Even an old 72 year old understood the instructions! A little cold out there today, but as soon as it warms up, am building two for a "Kitchen Garden" for next winter, next to my back door!
