In this video, we delve into the surprising struggles of Russia's navy in the Ukraine war. Despite boasting a formidable fleet, the Russian Navy has failed to secure a decisive advantage in the Black Sea. Ukraine's innovative use of drones and missiles has turned the tide, neutralizing key Russian naval assets and hindering their ability to launch ground assaults. Meanwhile, geopolitical challenges, like Turkey's control over the Turkish Straits, further complicate Russia's naval operations. We'll explore the strategic, technical, and political factors contributing to Russia's maritime woes and discuss what the future holds for its navy.

The Russian submarine fleet has grown significantly thanks to Ukraine, who converted many of their surface ships to submarines.

Times have changed and warfare has changed. Russia hasn't changed.

It's the same 3 issues every time: 1)Incompetence 2)Corruption 3)Russia lies about literally everything as a matter of policy.

Only in World of Warships you fear the Soviet/Russian Navy XD

The lesson is not so much that the Russian navy sucks, but, with drone warfare, that navies might not be as important as they used to be. The same with tanks.

To be fair, Russia still has the largest fleet in the Black Sea. There merely re-deployed from the surface to the bottom.

Zelensky: "I don't need a ride, I need ammunition"
Putin: "you sunk my missile cruiser"

"No no, the enemy didn't sink our ship. We did!"

What an odd way to pretend to save face.

I feel like not enough people appreciate how difficult it is to take Naval losses to a country with *no navy*

The russian Navy is currently investing a great deal of money into building artificial reefs all over the Black Sea.

Ukraine is using drones to avoid losing men. Russia is sending infantry in single file line.

You can never move forward if you're stuck in the past.

You can bet USA Navy taking notes on the vulnerability of it's own surface ships including expensive aircraft carriers. Submarines missiles and cheap drones are the future.

How in the world can you call yourself a superpower if your navy is getting its ass kicked by a country with no navy?

It's about time that Russia realizes that it's glory days are over. She should concentrate on making consumer products for her people....washing machines, refrigerators, automobiles, etc.

The Russian Army is not doing much better than their Navy

Russia has the mighty, all powerful, frightening Admiral Kuznetsov. All enemies tremble of fear when they see the large plume of smoke approaching from 60 miles away, escorted by its vicious tugboats.
Weapons cannot lock on due to it hiding in it's stealth smoke screen.

With an economy the same or less than Italy, it is impossible to maintain an efficient navy of that size!

Perhaps we should rename The Black Sea to the Russian Memorial Sea. It does describe it well!

Wouldn't trust the Russian Navy to organise a lunchtime BBQ without some corruption occurring.
