How was Saturn's rings formed? How Saturn got its rings? When Saturn's rings formed?

Join Physicist Brian Cox as he explains Saturn's Rings and how they were formed. He starts by describing them as a beautiful and intricate system made up of "Water Ice." Cox adds that Saturn's rings formed when one of Saturn's moons got too close, possibly due to a collision with another moon or gravitational interaction with another Moon and then dissociated and broke up to form those beautiful rings around the planet Saturn. Since Saturn's rings are made of Water Ice, they might have been trapped by Saturn's gravity and circled around it. The rings are not solid but made of countless tiny particles, each in its own orbit. They remain in place because of the balance between Saturn's pull and the movement of the particles. Additionally, Prof. Brian Cox mentions that Saturn did not have its rings when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. If dinosaurs had telescopes and looked up at Saturn, they might not have seen the planet as we see it today. At the end Brian Cox talks about the size of Saturn's Rings.

Fun fact: the background music wasn't added in the video. It starts every time Prof Cox tells a story about the universe

One of the most beautiful sights I ever saw was my first glimplse of Saturn through my own telescope. A beyond lovely jewel of the night sky.

Mr Cox has a very loving voice with such delicate inflections when describing the ancient events that may have formed Saturns rings. Hard to find a better narrator to bring the birth of a universe to life-

If only the dinosaurs had access to telescopes and wifi they' would be in for a real surprise! "Hey guys, check out the new bling around Saturn"

I love how if sped up, huge objects colliding looks like they are liquid.

It's only 10 meters thick? How would you measure their rings 🤔

The rings being that thin is somewhat disproven. There r peaks like mountains that are Km’s tall and there r many of em

I heard on a podcast the rings of Saturn could be as young as 12, 000 years old.

Now i only see little Timmy T-Rex who failed astronomy class because he couldn't handle the telescope with his tiny arms

I've heard that the largest of the ice particles are smaller than a house.

Is it that far ?

What we think happened was that the earth was flat but because the dinosaurs were so big and heavy, they rolled earth into a ball. When it became a ball the dinosaurs couldn't hold on and fell off so Saturn made rings out of them.
