Good take, but hear me out.
If it was a collision, the ice would've melted away before it got to form a ring. That's all I gotta say

The roche limit is more probable, but this could’ve happened. Maybe the moons were slightly bigger

But one needs to look at the entire planetary formation process for considerably longer.
The rings of planets are always perfectly aligned to the axial rotation.
Even Uranus' rings are at the radical incline of its axial rotation.

If all these rings formed from collisions they would be at various angles.
So the rings must always form as part of the same process that axial rotation forms.

Most axial rotation is in synch with the ecliptic orbital plane (with a few exceptions).
Axial rotation is not from impacts because then the largest planets would rotate slowest.

Thus the rings, the axial rotation and the orbits themselves all formed in the same process.
