Calypso is the Goddess of the Ocean and daughter of the Titan Atlas; if you're wondering why she chose the form of crabs, that's her sacred symbol as a Goddess.

I like how that side character who's mostly been comic relief throughout the movies, is the one to correct Barbose and have that intimate moment with Calypso. you can tell through the movies he has a soft heart and it really shows here.

I remembered this scene differently, but even after 14 years, this scene is still so good; Barbossa's hilarious lack of romantic tact, Ragetti's unexpected suaveness, Tia Dalma's transformation into Calypso and heartbreak Will breaks it to her that her lover Davy Jones was her traitor, the CGI of Calypso turning into crabs... Amazing

How smart do you have to be to realize if you're going to ask a goddess for help. You do not ask her while she's still tied up in ropes.

Dont lie...

Yall wasnt expecting Ragetti to be so smooth with it

Nah Naomie Harris acted her ass off in this scene, the shift from heartbreak to anger in her eyes when she recognizes that it was her boo thing the whole a woman

Did y’all notice that the eyeball guy released Calypso by saying her name like a lover and was the only one with a crab on his weeny 😏

"You didnt say it right! Y-you have to say it right..."

I dont know why, but even after all these years, one line is honestly the most memorable thing for me from this movie. I honestly dont know why, just the fact that he understood that it had to be said softly and with care, *actually* like a lover would...

And then Barbosa lolol Shouts to the heavens "CALYPSO!!!"
I dont know, it's strange but I literally just looked up this scene just for that one pirate. *shrugs*

I love how Barbosa explained how it needed to be said and said it the way he did 🤣🤣🤣 is that how you speak to your lover?? 😅🤣😂

i googled what calypso says heres what google said for 3:35

Prior to dissolving into a swarm of crabs in At World's End, Calypso shouts an incantation: "Malfaiteur en Tombeau, Crochir l'Esplanade, Dans l'Fond d'l'eau!". This roughly means "Across all the waters, find the path to he who wrongfully entombed me" in French.

I said it before and I’ll say it again: never imprison a sea goddess in human form.

That ship endured the sudden addition of a few hundred tons of giant woman very well.

Can’t help but laugh when barbossa says “I come before you but a servant” and think of the bloopers “you blew my hat off you bitch”

Malfaiteur en Tombeau, Crochir l'Esplanade, Dans l'Fond d'l'eau!", the phrase Calypso yells out when she is freed from her bonds, roughly translates to "Across all the seas, find the path to he who wrongfully entombed me!"

Im obsessed with this scene. Such beautiful representation of a goddess, her power & intensity. The beauty of Feminine rage - uncontrollable & not to be messed with. Like the ocean both beautiful & unforgiving

i love how you can just feel her wrath bubbling up when she says “NAME HIM”

I love how Barbossa just goes full ham while Ragetti, the comedy side character, knows exactly what "spoken like a lover" means when talking to the goddess of the sea. It's all a fantastic scene.
