Now US Tourists Ashamed And Scared To Travel Abroad

A couple of weeks ago I talked about how numbers of tourist visits to the United States have been plummeting. Now, the flip side is turning out to also be the case - many Americans now feel ashamed to travel to other countries, and some are even scared. All because they understand how much negativity towards America is being felt right now because of the actions of the Trump administration - and they fear being held accountable for it. Let's discuss.

One thing is for sure, as a european, I'm not crazy to spend a lot of money on a trip to US, only to be detained and separated from my wife and child and subjected to despicable treatment by the border control and deported back home, I'm not risking that, who tf needs the aggravation...

I'm an American, and I live in a South American country, and travel some. Americans should be concerned. We were already viewed as an entitled, arrogant, ignorant people. Now we are also viewed as hateful, racist and dangerous. We are a target wherever we go.

I'll conjecture that the vast majority of MAGA supporters do not own a passport. In my personal experience they offer up responses such as- 'why would I want to go anywhere else, we live in the best country in the world' and 'I wouldn't want to go anywhere where I can't take my gun with me.'

I am from Germany and liked american products a lot. Today I look for alternatives, especially from countries bullied by Trump. I cought myself even for applauding China for playing tough on Trumps tarrifs and not giving in.

It is much more terrifying to be going to the US right now. I am European and my husband is American. We live in Europe and he went alone on a trip home for his sister's wedding. I am fiercely anti-Trump and a review of my phone and laptop would show as much fairly quickly. Having bad anxiety while traveling, if we were to be separated and I was detained, I would most likely end up at a US hospital with a bill on top of the (failed) travel expenses. I didn't feel capable of doing it and so I had to miss my sister-in-law's wedding. It is sad but it is the reality we live in now.
