I hit the thumbs up for "Boycott Promoted Listings", ...I'm doing 20K this month with no promoted listings, ... 3, 300 listings

I agree. I Promoted the listing only one-time last month. It was to get more views so that people could find me and know my store. I saw a change in my sales after a week. The best way I found to get more sells was to list every day even if it is one item. Making sure that the description and the price are right is also a good thing to do.

Boycott promoted listings. Why give eBay more money? We are already paying for store and selling fee. Give the discount to the customer. Didn’t understand why everyone was doing promoted listing and giving eBay more money. Glad others are thinking like me.

Great video. For those wanting to try this, be aware of how many listing you are at compared to your allotment for the month as well as how many you have left for free listings. If your close this could put you over for the month without actually listing anything new and cost you .25 a listing to post. Been there done that!

just wanted to jump back here to tell you I have been doing the delist and sell similar for about 3 weeks now. This has been far more effective than sales that I've run in the past trying to get rid of old inventory. I have been doing 10 a day using listings that end today. I checked my stats yesterday and my sales are up considerably. I don't see me ever going back to running regular sales or using coupons again. I just wanted to thank you for sharing you system!

Excellent video! I promote at 2.7 percent but I am going to try doing what you do! Your video really made sense.

Totally agree. People usually search by brand, size, model and color. even there if there 1000's of Levi Jeans there are only so many in a particular size and color. Promoted listings putting your listing at the top out of 15 available won't do much

You make some good points and I intend to give the markdown strategy a go. There’s definitely a lot of YouTubers talking about not promoting anymore. You may have seen this but For more analysis I’ve found Polish Pete UK good lately on this topic. Thanks again.

I promote my listings and I am glad I do. I have a 30% sell thru per month in my store of only 886 items. I sell all clothing (mens with some womens.) I feel like if you gave promoted listings a good shot - longer than 4 days... your business would explode. You would sell way more and the benefit would outweigh the con. But to each their own.

I am still nearly losing on shipping, not selling enough so the post keeps price high for post. Buyer want to pay nothing for postage or very little frustrating plus . There is also the cost of bags to post item . Yes price matters ! I have to put price down too am starting to do that more aggressively !thanks

Price is definitely king, imo. A majority of buyers shop the lowest price. They don't care or even know about promotions. They want the best item they can get at the lowest price. Desirable item plus the right price is the formula. I think it also helps when you have a larger store with similar items as well. Absolutely nothing wrong with promoting when needed but a lot of sellers don't make the distinction. It's like promotions is another box to check b/c somebody said you have to do it to get more sales. This is why you constantly hear people ask what rate do you promote at?

what depth of shelves do you use?....im looking at getting a storge unit 10x10 and then getting 7ft by 20 inch husky shelves then extended bank boxes or totes...would you do that?.

Do you that with brands that are more common it’s still better to promote ?

Yeah, If you have a shirt for $29.95 on Ebay for 5 months and it doesn't sell, that DOESN'T mean you need to promote it, ...it means you need to end-and-sell-similar and change the price to 24.95 or whatever. On the other hand, if I list a jacket for $120.00 and I get 2 offers for $110.00 the next day, i DON'T accept the offer(I don't allow offers btw), I actually sometimes INCREASE the price, ...I research every item before I list it, so I purposely don't budge on my price within 30 Days no matter what. 90% of the time the people that offer "$110.00" end up buying for $120 when i reply "no thx", ...sometimes they buy it for full price before I have a chance to reply to them. You can't go wrong when you slowly lower the price over a period of time, -it makes sure you don't get burned, and it it makes sure you don't need to do promoted listings. Promoted Listings is for Suckers.

I have about 3500 items. I've been using promoted listings off and on but I sell mostly media (cds, cassettes, movies of all types), books, toys, and videogame, and various collectibles. I'm been doing the delete and resell similar but it seems to delete a chunk of the info in my items for some reason when I do it one at a time. I wonder if that way of doing it would keep it from deleting data. It would definitely be worth trying it like that for stuff I don't want to spend the time updating. Thanks for the ideas. I'm getting tired ot paying 10% promoted listings only to still not get the sales. And this way I can pick and choose what to change the prices on. For some items it's better to up the prices on occasion too when they go down too much. I might try it tonight and see if I can get some extra sales.

I rarely promote unless I have multiple multiple items in a SKU, but I recently ended that cuz YES, a lower price is better than hoping eBay "promotes"... My price promotes💪💪💪💪
