Why Turkish Get Up TGU is martial arts

In this video, a breakdown, the Turkish Get Up into step-by-step detail, and put it in its proper context. Like any exercise there’s many ways that can be done, and people can become very artistic with this movement. However, I see a lot of trainers miss direct their movements because they’re not seeing it in its original application, which is a self-defense/martial art application. It comes from what’s called stand up and base which is a way to defend yourself when you’re on the ground and want to stand up onto your feet safely.

Would you ever recommend a block of specializing in this movement, like some people do with squats or deadlifts or other full body movements? Especially if someone is lacking in the hip and shoulder mobility/stability department.
