HOW TO FIX BATTLE CRASHES IN TOTAL WAR

It worked, it worked! I was playing an error free game of TOB until I got a constant crash to desktop when I started a certain battle. After I did this it started right up. Thanks so much for this!

Thank you so much man, still works in 2024. Just got Total War Attila and it kept crashing and I was so disappointed but found this and it worked. Absolute amazing video! I'm giving you a like and a sub mate.

Great video, and a point to note: If you save army files in Rome 2/Attila custom battle they can glitch up your gameplay and crash if you play with mods. So play them, with a saved army but do it consistently with one mod rather than multiple ones

Last 10 years I prefer games not supported by publishers or servers. The companies only get greedy and ruin a good game anyways.
Here are some facts when games lose support.
1 they stop charging for content.
2 I hate having to rely on internet/connections or game servers hours and updates .
3 companies can’t manipulate my entertainment when ever they want because I’m offline.
4 offline is way cheaper lol.❤❤❤❤

so my game crashed when ever i click on Custom Battles
it doesnt crash on multiplayer it only happens when i do it for singleplayer

So do you mean a crash that happens DURING a battle in say Warhammer 2, or crash AFTER the battle? or Both? Warhammer 2 keeps crashing right after the battle when trying to load back to the campaign screen.

Honestly can't remember the last time i had a battle crash in any of those titles, i'm sure i do but it's very uncommon.
But definitely looking forward to the Med2/Rome1 video hopefully there's something in there i can use, but for those older titles i think the main problem was memory usage/memory leak.

I have 2 older PCs and neither will run Medieval TW. Crashes after loading. I have owned this game for years and still can’t play it.

I tray to play total war Warhammer 1 it show me the first screen total war Warhammer 1 and sage after that it just shutdown

I am playing Empire Total War and it crashes all the time when I am in a battle

So the issue for me is when im in campaign and when i load into battle it then crashes. I did as you did and at first it worked, but then it crashed again. I looked back at the c drive folder that battle preferences is still there even though i deleted it. Is it certain location on the map that keeps breaking for me or is there something more into this. Please Help

For those on Steamdeck: (Shogun 2& Fots)
I tried it but it still crashed after exiting a battle. Now i changed from GE-Proton7-43 to GE-Proton8-11 and it did'nt crash after exiting battle 5 times! Don't know if its because of deleting the files or it run's better with proton8-11. Thanks for the video! I hope this solution with Proton helps some Steamdeck users! ✌🏼Greetings

Doing a campaign in empire with the empire total war 2 mod installed. Im sieging Istanbul and the ottomans try to break free and when i try to play the battle it crashes. Never had this problem before.
