What is the difference between Tor and VPN?
The key distinction between a VPN and Tor are their operation methods. While a VPN encrypts and routes your traffic using a network of servers maintained by a centralized entity, Tor is a decentralized network operated by volunteers. It is less user-friendly, transparent, and much slower. Also, it’s more complex. However, it is still a powerful tool. If you need accountability, safety, and privacy, you should use a reliable VPN provider while using the Tor browser.

What is Tor?
Tor (short for “The onion router”) is a network used for anonymous communication. It has lots of servers scattered around the world. They are maintained by individual volunteers. This makes Tor connections difficult to intercept as they do not rely on a single company or organization.

Tor vs VPN? Which one to choose?
Tor and VPN are two different tools with different purposes. While there are multiple VPN providers, there is only one Tor network. When you connect to a VPN, it encapsulates your internet traffic in an encrypted tunnel, while Tor uses several layers of independent nodes. Although Tor and VPN applications overlap, there are more differences than similarities.

We recommend using a VPN as it has more features, more transparency, and high-end encryption mechanisms. VPN can protect your traffic in a more transparent way than Tor.

Tor uses end to end encryption so no matter who is the node, they can not track you and the guarantee for Tor encryption is that it is Open Source, so you can look into the code, compile your own and be assured that there are no backdoor implementations. NordVPN is a closed source and corporal product so you can not rest assured that there is no some backdoor in it's code, just as you can not rest assured that the company behind NordVPN (Nord Security) will not abuse your data.

First of all, it’s the Tor network. Tor. T-o-r. Not TOR. Then, by default, the Tor network only protects the browser, although you can make an Onion Pi/An Android/Anbox + GNU/Linux device with Orbot. And then Tor is more anonymous, if you don’t say your real name, use the Browser Bundle as recommended, and try to be secure. Plus, since it’s decentralized and random, you can trust them, and an exit and guard from the same people is rarer than having 3 different nodes. Also, there’s a 4th node at the beginning. It’s a bridge.

This video is terrible and you should feel terrible.
The Tor browser is indistinguishable from other tor browsers so long as you don't modify it so websites can't build a profile on you. Using your standard web browser over a VPN does not offer that level of protection. Over Tor your encrypted data is passed through a chain of servers. Unless they're all compromised you are much safer from being traced. A VPN is faster because it's not passing you through multiple servers. A paid VPN is good at protecting you from copyright lawsuits from the MPAA and RIAA. By itself it should not be trusted beyond that...

I have Nord VPN, but I only problem is getting connected with my bank, credit card sites and even connecting to you tube sites sometimes. I keep getting "page cannot be found or cannot connect with this page". So what can I do to make it useful?

Am i more protected if i use Tor + Normal VPN method (Not speaking about the Onion over VPN feature). If i just use the Quick Connect button and then do start the Tor Browser, does it make a difference?

What's the difference between using the "Onion Over VPN" speciality server and just using a regular server with a Tor browser?

I read that the traffic routed in Tor is encrypted. If it is encrypted, how could spy nodes make sense of the traffic?

Also, by "Tor protects only onion network connections" did you mean that devices that can run tor e.g. Laptops, Desktops, can only be secure with Tor?

Things that are wrong with this video:

Tor is also easy to use.

NordVPN logs data so they can also find out about your info

It depends on what server your using on NordVPN.
