On a side note, even Paul in Corinthians chapter 7 suggests that people stay single if they are able to handle doing so. Either choice is fine, but singleness has a lot of benefits to it compared to the challenges that marriage brings towards your devotion to God, and the earthly cares that come with having a spouse. (especially when considering that being earthly minded is not what followers of Christ are called to set our minds toward. Marriage brings a conflict of interests in that regard.) then on top of all that, the government got involved with marriage and made it a government contract. A contract that Rewards the person who makes less money than the other one to break the contract. (which could happen at literally any point in time for the rest of your life. I don't know if any other contracts like that in life, especially ones with such huge consequences.)
It's the unfortunate state of a fallen world with imperfect people. Thank God for his Grace and the gift of his son
