When you strip away all the wacky and impenetrable compressed production, the post-J Mascis guitar whammy fuzz, and the overarching hyperbole that is attached to those said aesthetics for the last 3 decades, you'll find that MBV is basically a twee folk -pop band with beautiful melodies. And you guys pretty much nailed that.
