You forgot to mention that the Shtorm will also be able to submerge to a depth of up to 10, 000 meters. Although it will only be able to do this once.

Have the Russians already developed a super tugboat for the super-carrier?

A bit over 30 years ago, when I was working on US carrier designs in support of NAVSEA, we were carefully watching as the USSR laid down the hull for their first nuclear powered supercarrier design. But it was being built in Ukraine, where much of the Soviet shipbuilding expertise was located. It never got more than about half built before they gave up and started to dismantle it. I have no idea why they gave up, but their history of carrier design and construction is dismal at best.
And despite their completion of earlier designs like the Kiev, (there's some irony) they have never really been successful in deploying and operating a carrier air group.

Assuming that it ever actually leaves the concept phase, I would give the Shtorm 5 years at most before the Little Tug Boat That Could would be sailing at the head of the Russian navy once again.

Aside from upgrading current dockyards to accommodate the building of ship of that size, one of the main issues mentioned in the video on the Kuznetsov is the lack of on shore electrical facility's that can take the pressure off the ships machinery by providing the power needed for basic operations while at dock. Also the Russian government would have to build more, much bigger dry docks for the ship to be repaired in.

Russia can't even repair Admiral Kuznetsov, let alone build a new carrirer, let alone right now.

When I was ten years old I was drawing a lot of ships and planes that were superior to every existing military vehicle. The Shtorm is the same kind of "supership".

The Admiral Kuznetsov has caught on fire so many times it probably did once or twice while you read this sentence. It also managed to sink its own drydock.

Russia: Can't keep the Admiral Kuznetsov running.
Also Russia: Fear our new Super Duper Carrier.

I wonder if it comes with that bomber on deck thats too big to move without destroying the superstructure and other parked planes on deck? BRILLIANT marketing there 😅

Russian sources now report that the Shtorm aircraft carrier model unexpectedly burst into flames and had to be towed from its display case to the modeling team's workbench for repairs. She's expected to be out of service for at least a year.

Two years ago, everyone would be impressed and racing to catch up.
Today, everyone says, "Great, my 4-year old cousin, a Conflict of Nations player made something like that too. Both are just as likely to ever be built in the real world."

You can put up whatever requirements and designs you want on paper. The ability to make those requirements and designs real in numbers enough to matter is what counts.

I'm not sure what would be more surprising - seeing this ship actually in the water or a deck full of Su-57's on it.

They need an admiral in command who throws binoculars over the side to command it.

Imagine spending billions on an aircraft carrier and manning it with conscripts that you drafted out of prison?
