As a skinny person, I had to accept that due to my body shape, dressing baggier and androgynous looks better on me. I give off a masculine vibe so dressing too girly is a no-go but I do like combining some girly items with masculine ones!

As a bigger girl with an admittedly strange shape, "body type" videos always give me pause, but I really loved the way you handled this! Giving us options on what can highlight or reduce specific areas is a great way to go about it, I wish more people talked about it this way! Always love your fashion stuff 💜

I want to add some tips for all the girlies with a small waist, but big thighs, hips and butts because finding cute bottoms that fit and flatter our bodies can be a struggle for us. It took me years to figure out what bottoms work for my body.

Common struggles when bottom shopping is gapping in the waist, but at the same time tightness around the thighs and hips. My recommendation is to opt for low or mid rise as you won’t have to worry about gapping at the waist. Having the horizontal line of the jeans stop at the widest part of our hips can also helps accentuate our beautiful hips because it draws the eyes to that line so if you want to show off your hips that’s a great option.

If you don’t want to draw extra attention to your hips or you’re not comfortable with low rise pants there are also brands that sell high waist pants specifically made for curvy bodies with smaller waists. Since the band of high waist pants stop at the smallest part of your torso it brings people’s eyes to your waist and makes it appear smaller, but also draws the attention away from the hip area.

I think flared and bootcut styles are great for balancing out the thickness of the thighs and hips as they don’t add any additional with on the hips and thighs, but instead widens the bottom half of the legs making the legs look more equally sized all the way down. The style also give the illusion of length and help draw the eye down and away from the hip area.

I like to avoid high straight leg jeans as they can often fit too tightly around the thighs while also gapping at the waist. The style of straight leg jeans are intended to be equally tight or loose all the way down the leg, but on thicker thighs they don’t have the same effect. Instead opt for slightly tapered jeans as they will fit much better around big thighs. On big thighs the tapered shape actually give the same effect as straight leg jeans give on people with smaller thighs.

I also recommend pants with pleats in the front as the pleats leave extra room for your thighs.

I also know how much of a struggle shorts can be, especially sitting in them. I always opt for longer shorts. Shorts that stop at the widest part of the thighs can not only draw attention to that area, but also squeeze our thighs when we sit down. Longer shorts don’t create as much of an issue when sitting down and are therefore a lot more comfortable. Another advice when it comes to comfortability when sitting down is to avoid shorts with cuffs as the extra layers of fabric at the hem of the shorts can make them extra tight when you sit down. I also recommend picking thinner and softer or stretchier materials over thick, structured materials that don’t stretch. A pair of float linen shorts are a great alternative to jeans, they look just as cute and can be dressed up or worn more casually. You can also skip shorts altogether and go for skirts instead if you want to. With skirts you don’t have to worry about wether or not it’s gonna squeeze your thighs once you sit down.

I really hope I was able to help someone with these tips. I’m always happy to give advice.

i LOVE how you're giving tips on what others can do but not saying "if your body looks like this, do this." and instead "if you wish to appear more **** do this"

I’ve been needing a new swimsuit so I’ve been looking at what styles would flatter my body type. I found SO MANY sites telling me I should NEVER wear certain regular clothes because they will make me look fat or short and it was honestly so annoying. A lot of them won’t even use the same model for “wrong” and “right” and sometimes the “wrong” looks better than the “right” one. So thank you so much for not doing that and understanding that rules are ment to be broken

11:30 I did that too.
Skirts with high socks. Then short skirts with tights. Then I felt comfortable without the tights and to start wearing shorts for the first time. It’s worth noting people always say my legs are particularly beautiful but I didn’t show an inch of them for half my life.

Omg thank you for this. I've always been small/skinny my entire life. Clothing shopping has been hell, especially since the stores don't carry sizes that fit me, and I'm always struggling to find something that looks good on me. But I can't complain about it because I'm someone's "ideal" body 😭

So so so hyped that you touched on this topic! Was literally chatting to my friend about this yesterday and how I (at this grown woman age of 24 lol) am only now learning how to dress for my body type! It can be difficult especially when there are so many trends circulating that you wanna try. And that's one thing I love about fashion- the fact that it's genuinely an opportunity to experiment and express your creativity. And for me personally I am finding balance in accepting that while something may be objectively cute or trendy, it doesn't automatically mean I am going to feel confident in that item and that is okay- because that is the fun part about experimenting with fashion- you come to discover not only what style you're attracted to, but also how to make it look good on you!

puff sleeve tops are actually good for somebody with like "thicker" shoulders because it can drown out the shape. maybe not broad, but I have pretty thick shoulders and square neck tops and puff sleeves do me a favor by making my shoulders less apparent for some reason. if you have this issue the worst is just like tube tops and plain tank tops that don't accentuate the waist to show the contrast in size. I also don't like anything tight up there
