100 percent. Well pointed out argument. Also majority of high level athletes don't turn pro. If they take a percentage placed in a escrow to gain interest the athlete on top of their education has a great start in their workforce, industry or entrepreneur endeavors. This will market itself.

I think it’s dumb bc it hurts small schools.
But Ben is right since a lot of those kids won’t go to the league and their school makes money on them. (Even the best college players don’t make it in the league to make money. Teebow, Johnny Manzel, etc.)

I don't have a problem with N.I.L. I have a problem with how it's handled. Give the players the $ one of two ways. Give the money, when you graduate or when you turn pro. It's now the Wild West, no rules. Teams in large markets have a huge advantage. Watch USC Southern Cal, come back in a HUGE way.

In Europe, any athlete on the level of a college team in the U.S. plays in an amateur league and earns money, especially in football/soccer. They're elite athletes, they deserve to be paid and education should be free anyway, period.

The question is framed incorrectly. The question isn’t “Should players be paid?” They already are. The question is “Should players be paid more than the cost of education?”

Either:
1) Pay players, because these schools are making millions off unpaid, employees by deed but not by title.

2) No one makes (or at least grosses) money. NCAA, Universities, players, nobody. Only money to cover general cost, which is actual amateur sports like they claim to be. Which we all know would never happen.

Idk it depends, I'm not sure how it works but if every athlete (not just superstars) gets free tuiton its probably pretty reasonable. The linemen arent making the schools millions.

Rare times I disagree with Ben. Then it should cut BOTH WAYS — non-revenue sport students (ie. 99.9% of women’s sports) should PAY to play.

I don't think they should be paid, but I do think it's insane that the players aren't actually allowed to earn their own money and surrender the rights to their own likeness.
