As someone who comes from a family of lawyers, while some aren’t confrontational, those who are don’t even realize they are. My lawyer aunt is the most stubborn and argumentative person I know and we were talking and I mentioned we were both stubborn and argumentative. She said I was but she wasn’t, and I stated that while it is true that I argue, she does as well. Then she began to ARGUE THAT SHE WASN’T ARGUMENTATIVE!!

When i managed in the food industry I used to hate customer complaints and getting yelled at because I didnt know how far I could go. As someone with autism I feel this so much. I am suspicious/skeptical of authority figures and resent the abuse of power that comes with hierarchical structures of power, but I love rules because well-formed rules are a binary: either the rule has been followed, or it has been broken. Black or White, Yes or No, so simple, easy and clear 🙏
