Only programs already in Windows 10 are shown. I want to add an icon for an unlisted program that I use every day.

I have been dragging from the Menu onto the desktop. It does put icons on to the desktop. But they (at least the Firefox icon) seems to take FOREVER to open.
Is my method of adding icons the problem? Could it really be that simple?

Microsoft already made a complete mess of Windows 10 I still think Windows 7 is vastly better without all the tiles and apps rubbish
