Every year I'm blown away by how little a large software company that charges hundreds of dollar can do compared to a small plugin or addon creator that do so much more with a fraction of the man power and budget.

Teeny tiny incremental improvements as usual. I love the software generally, but after a decade of using it you experience the same frustrations over and over, so I wish they would ask users what they want.

I really, really like how you now compare SketchUp to Blender on the fly, since you have the perspective of knowing both programs. I really think that SU+Blender are good companions, and these days I can't imagine not using them both!

I don't find these changes all that much useful for my workflow, but I guess time will tell. I'd really love if they could make the bucket tool to ignore groups and paint straight to the surfaces maybe when pressing shift. It would also be incredibly interesting if they could make negative objects that cut holes, but I get that the last one would be very challenging.

I don't think people really use freehand that much but I was really interested if they had finally introduced a true circle for SketchUp.But selection through a section plane and search toolbar are really good additions, again thanks for the insight Justin

Layout needs a lot of work. Yes, I know it has improved over the years but it's such a pain in the butt to work in and get good results out of it. Other softwares do it way better with half the effort :/.. I hope layout gets some important updates or even a rework would be great.

I am a subscriber and I have followed your tutorials for a long time. You have taught me a great deal and helped my drawing and production improve. I do have one suggestion — you use the word “basically” so much that I find myself listening for it in your videos. Nothing wrong with the word, but it isn’t really needed most of the time.

Thank you for this, I did read the notes, but your video is far nicer to absorb. I see a lot of CAD esque tools coming in, which is great news. My workflow is mostly keyboard commands, the same in CAD, I have a feeling that in future issues the shift S will be a dockable feature. Thanks again Justin 👍

Justin, did you know that the trick you teach in many of your [excellent] tutorial videos where you create interior elevations using the Position Camera tool rather than the more cumbersome Section Planes, no longer works in Sketchup 2022? It doesn't work because they "fixed" the annoying clipping issue in a way that eliminates the clipping-plane functionality of the Position Camera tool. This is a huge loss for me as I have several large Sketchup/Layout projects that rely heavily on this technique. Those files are now all trashed. It will be many many hours of work to repair them using Sections Planes.

and after all these novelties, sketchup still fails to export to cad, without the layers being broken into a thousand parts. I think that would be the most appreciable novelty
