I cannot express how much I appreciate this video and your skill in teaching. I use very advanced softwares (TVPaint, Adobe, Blender) but STRUGGLED with Sketchup. It seemed so remarkably unintuitive (yes, that coming from an Adobe user).

I have tried on several occasions to learn Sketchup, each time getting into a simple project, hitting a wall (no pun intended), then walking away in frustration.

But this time with this video, you seem to teach the way I learn. You're concise, organized in thought, you provide a simple overview (faces, edges), and you show how its done.

This time I will make this end table successfully. Then, with practice in Sketchbook, and as a woodworker, the sky will be my limit.

Thank you, Matt.

This is a great video. Thank you for taking the time to make it so concise. I am a complete beginner and I went from clueless to cautiously confident using this video. It did not take me 10 minutes--I spent hours replaying, slowing down the speed, and fiddling on my own--but it got me there. Thanks again!

Amazing! You truly are a skilled teacher. I'm a complete beginner and will study this video over and over until I absorb it all. It is totally relevant to a project I have in mind. So very, very glad to have found you. Thanks from your newest subscriber!

Hey! Loved this as an intro to the software. I had a bit of a hard time though, mostly because of the language. It would've been great if you showed the controls you are using (maybe just writen on some corner of the screen)

I've been screwing around in SketchUp to make amateur models for a project for my diploma coursework. I did not realise how much I've been missing out until I followed this tutorial. Thanks a lot.

All around an excellent video. I really appreciate your concise and engaging teaching style. There was only one instruction I couldn't figure out, "Snap to Origin" but I can look it up later.
I'm very new to using any design software and haven't done any in the last 6 months. This video really knocked the dust off and got me back in the game. It took a bit more than 10 min but not as long as other videos would have.
I've subscribed and can't wait to learn more from you.
Keep up the good work.

Do you have any videos where you walk through these tools more slowly? Any other Sketchup tutorials you would recommend for someone who learns at a slightly slower pace/ needs a little bit more handholding?

Matt, thanks for this. I am a long-time but sporadic user of SketchUp Pro in Windows and am now trying to get proficient with SketchUp for the iPad. I really like the way you teach.

Outstanding video. I’m a total beginner to Sketchup but not 3D modeling. Please continue to post more content. It would be phenomenal if you could do a tutorial on something like making a sofa!

Wow! Just came across this video. I've been using Sketchup as a newbie for very few projects over the years, but I was not aware of many of the things that are covered in this 10 minute video. It may be short, but it's packed with very useful information and tips. I have a new project coming soon so I just subscribed! Thanks a lot!

I am a Sketchup since 2008. This is the best video I have ever seen about Sketchup. Thank you so much. Is the 3D Gallery still available?
