I think, for a first watch at around a 10k price point, you need to have the proper utility watch. Santos is nice, but time only and a little too on the dressy side. Speedy is the perfect throw on and go watch.

For me, it’s the Santos. Square watches are so different, you don’t see those everyday. Plus, they include a leather strap as well, so you have more versatility with it. Plus the history as the first watch to be worn on the wrist… I’m sorry but that specific history in my opinion beats the moon watch. Love the speedy tho, don’t get me wrong!

As a blue Santos owner, I agree the speedy is probably a better first watch purchase for most. Traditional look, can have a display back, and if bought pre owned can be cheaper by a few thousand dollars. The white Santos would be a better argument. But I feel the Santos is usually a second watch, it’s dressier, usually you go down the rabbit hole deeper to find the history behind it while everyone when they start collecting find out about the speedy and the moon. Also people usually want something relatively safe the first purchase and then something different that stands out the second purchase. But both are fantastic
