We take you out on the river with us and show you how we bait out our trot lines. I also discuss the effect of weather on trot line fishing and what we feel are the best conditions for trot lining. I talk about some of the regulations for trot line fishing in Missouri.

I have noticed that too about flatheads the darker the night the better the fishing. I've caught my biggest flatheads on a moonlight night -though I think it was a fluke because I've also caught big flatheads on a dark night. Interesting species to try to catch.

I'm sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to learn how to run trot lines, and you seem like the man to learn from.

When you run a trotline do you only anchor one end to the bank, then drop a heavy weight at the end of the line, or do you anchor the line on either side of the bank and span the whole creek? Also do you try to weight the line so it sits near the bottom or just let the line float wherever?

So typically on a trotline do you weigh it down so it’s on the bottom?

Is that those drainage ditches you cross going from kennet towards the grizzly jig company. There's 3 of them.

Seems like nights with a major thunderstorm is when we catch the most flatheads
