Have had it for a week, so far so good . We do live about a mile from a tower . Att told us that everyone was going to be switched to it and the old wired would be cut off in the future. It’s 20 dollars cheaper than what we are paying now. I think this is the first step in getting people in rural areas access . We live in the country and have had issues with the wired connection .

Mine was working good for 5 months but the last 3 weeks I cannot stream anything without it constantly pausing, AT&t can't help they're saying that signal is congested 😢

I’m debating switching to Internet Air since I’m already a wireless mobile customer. I’ve had Cox for a little over a year now and the speeds are very good but the price has been irritating, especially with the constant overage fees we get monthly by exceeding data caps, something I never dealt with with my last Internet provider. The price of $40 and no overage fees is super tempting but the speeds is what’s worrying me, I stream on about 3-4 TVs everyday, I also game, and I also have a Ring security system hooked up to the wifi. My recent Internet speed tests are showing 363Mbps download & 105Mbps upload

I just got an email this month and a letter in the mail saying that I need to switch to AT&T Internet Air since I'm quite literally grandfathered in on DSL and they are gonna be getting rid of DSL "In a few months", no actual timeline on that just a vague "few months". I live between to larger areas in a more rural location...not SUPER rural but an area they aren't too incentivized to put up fiber internet and for me cabal is prohibitively expensive cause I'm 500 feet from the pole and XFinity has a 200 foot limit. I'd have to get a line extension plan AND a new pole in my yard...that I have to pay for and could run me up to $2, 500 for the pole alone....so yeah, while I would prefer the security of a wired Fiber connection so that a bad thunderstorm doesn't give me internet issues....kinda hard to track the storm if my internet keeps futzing out due to heavy rain and the like...due to my location they aren't in a hurry to run fiber to my location.

My maternal aunt has a friend who says it'll be a few years yet before they cut landlines cause he knows a guy who actually works on lines for AT&T...but in a few years I'll have to move to their VoIP service. I'm not super happy about that as I like the security of a landline if the power goes out, that way I don't have to worry about battery backups, having umpteen battery back up cell phone charger things, or a solar charger for my phone, I can use it to keep in contact and find out what is going on with family or the progress of getting power back by just having my landline and an old fashioned cheap phone from Walmart or something hooked up.

The author didn’t to include the necessity of the globe being directly at the closest tower that could be achieved by aligning with the tower through the window from across the room. What we need is clarification about the other connection points on the globe.

Starlink nets me 200mbps on the farm, but also costs twice as much per month. Debating trying this.

That internet speed test sucks lol not very good but better than nothing, living in a rural area. I just orders this, I’m right by a tower. Hopefully all goes well !! Speed will be faster than that. But it seems like it’s way faster then what he had before

You'd be much better off going with Starlink.
