Arm balancing isn't easy and it takes a lot of work but have you ever wondered what's the most common arm balancing challenge and why? You'll get to witness it for yourself in this video. In truth, the reason most yogis struggle to take the chest forward when learning to arm balance is fear.
Hesitancy manifests in the body when the weight is held back and also when the chest remains low. To float, it’s important to keep the chest lifted and lengthening forward.
Looking forward helps with the transfer of weight moving forward, so look way beyond your hands toward the top of your mat. Also, try placing a pillow underneath where you head will lengthen towards, to encourage the forward movement. This cushion may also ease fears incase you do fall.
