How do you find out you’ve won the Nobel Prize? Nobel Prize winner Eric Cornell describes how he received a call with the good news at 4:00 in the morning! This is because he lives in Boulder, Colorado, and the Nobel Prize announcements are made at noon local time in Stockholm, Sweden. He didn’t know he was nominated for the prize because the selection process is a secret, but he had an idea of what the call would be when he picked it up because he knew it was Nobel Prize morning.

they got the Nobel prize because they are making our life easier by solving complex problems, not because they want to get the nobel prize.
