Still no Nobel Prize for the mathematicians though.

Great list but as Polish I feel a little bit touched because Marie Curie also had hers maiden name which is Skłodowska. She named element after mother land and some people don't even know that she was Polish.

This list should have been sub-divided since the merits of Physics and the merits Peace keeping are different

What about Malala Yousafzai? She got shot in the head by the Taliban when she was about 15 and survived because she advocated women's rights. Then moved on to become the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner ever. Not even a honorable mention????

I think it's pretty clear that of Einstein's 4 papers in 1905, the Theory of Relativity is the most profound, mind-blowing and influential. Yet, 16 years later, a committee full of distinguished Physicist awards him the Nobel Prize:

"for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect"

That's how far ahead he was.

Honorable Mention! (From Me)

RIGOBERTA MENCHU:
In 1992 Rigoberta Menchú Tum was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her work for the rights of the Maya of Guatemala and native people everywhere. Her work was very important, mainly during the Guatemalan civil war (1960-1996), where many indian peasants were innocently being killed/raped by soldiers and rebels.

Okay. Wow. Most of you have know idea what you're talking about when it comes to Mother Teresa. You just read some stuff on the internet and suddenly you think you know everything about her. First of all, her belief that "suffering is a gift from God" is a Catholic teaching and is frequently taken out of context. She wasn't some sadist who tortured people. Rather, she was combating the caste system in India that basically says if you're destitute then you must be forsaken and worthless. Secondly, it was never her intention for her hospices to act as a hospital. If she could help those in need, she would, but her goal was to prevent the sick and poor in the slums from dying on the street. She wanted them to feel loved and cared for in their final moments. By keeping her hospices cheap, she could help more people, and provide for those who had nothing. She did try to convert some to Christianity, but what do you expect from the Mother of a convent? She was helping them feel spiritually secure in their last moments. Lastly, Hitchens was a know anti-theist and was far from a unbiased author. If you read him, you won't be getting a fair depiction of Mother Teresa. If you can't agree with her religious views, that is fine, but don't liken her to Hitler. She gave more of her life to the poor than many of us ever will.

Mother Teresa was a horrible and despicable human being, she shouldn't be on the list.

Fuck mother Teresa, I'm just glad Obama isn't anywhere on the list. The guy was nominated after being in office for 12 days. Did they just assume he'd do good stuff? We might as well start giving the super bowl to the team we all think is going to win.

The Watson and Crick one is a outrage. They stole the DNA data from a female scientist Rosalind Franklin. They got undeserved credit.
