Rice wine without Yeast | Sparkling rice wine homemade | Strong flavored rice wine at home

Homemade rice wine is made with basic ingredients such as rice, sugar and small amount whole wheat. Wheat is used for fermentation and it can be replaced by ragi( finger millet) but fermentation days varies.
Our homemade rice wine recipe is illustrated with simple procedure in this video. Why not try this recipe and check it out.

INGREDIENTS:

Rice - 200 grms
Sugar - 1 cup(250 grms)
Wheat - 2 tsp
Water - 3 cups(750 ml, boiled and cooled)

Instructions to prepare wine:

1. Add washed rice and water into an airtight container.
2. Store it for 3 days in dark and dry place.
3. Strain the content, add sugar, wheat and again transfer into an airtight container.
4. Keep the container in the dark place for another 3 days.
5. After 3 days, strain the contents into a vessel and transfer it into a glass container.
6. Cover the lid tightly and place it in dark place for another 7 days so that it will ferment well.
7. After 7 days, rice wine is ready to serve.
8. To make it more strong, I have stored it for another 15 days.
9. It will become crystal clear and the taste gets better as it ages.
10. It can be stored up to 1 year, just make sure you use boiled and cooled water in this wine making process.

I tried this and I substituted the wheat with bread yeast and then added some hibiscus flower petals and honey, I left the strained result in a bucket (yh the traditional way 😂) for a month, I then put it in an empty wine bottle and put in the fridge, it taste so good, just 1 glass has me so buzzed. Every month I'll make 2 batch of this. A glass a day keeps the doctor away 😂

I made this using your recipe and bottled it today. Came out amazing and was sweet with 9.5% Alcohol. I am going to make it again but a bigger batch. This was the least complicated way to make rice wine. Thanks for the great recipe!

When fermenting gas is emmiting, if you keep the bottle tightly capped there is a possibility of exploding the bottle. Also fermentation makes foamy substances on top of the liquid.

PSA; If you're fermenting in regions outside APAC/FarEast, may need yeast from those places to engage proper fermentation. Yeast is different everywhere and that accounts for the different fermenting experiences. Example, it's why sourdough bread is great in SanFrancisco, it's the wild yeast there that does it. Imported rice wine yeast like 酒曲 can help for people like me in California.

This really turned out well for you so At first I thought this would turn out to be a joke but as I tasted it today after following all the steps just took a sip of 30 just gave some and hit me when I opened the glass bottle it gave a pop sound and the little bubbles started floating to

Hi, is this supposed to smell like vomit? Sorry for the term but mine turned out that way. I didn't see any molds tho. With the taste however, it doesn't taste like regular wine/alcoholic beverage. Would greatly appreciate your reply. Thank you!

Even if its a glass bottle, will it hold pressure? Will it not explode of we keep it closed tightly for 3 days?

Hello, Thank you for this recipe!
Just a few questions, there is no need to cook it?
Also how well and how many times do you need to wash it & mine is not as milky as yours after the 1st three days, is there a reason for that?
apologies for all the questions & thank you!
