I see that saturated fats increase cholesterol, but nothing more(Minnesota coronary study; Sydney diet heart study). More healthy people(before the pyramid stuff idk how it's now) had higher cholesterol than those with heart disease.

It's pretty well impossible to overdo fat intake on a keto diet, unless you have some metabolic abnormality (LPS maybe). There's also no reason to fear saturated fats as you should know.

I would think a dietician would be up on the latest medical science. Its pretty widely known at this point that modern studies have entirely ruled out the misguided advice that came out of the medical community for decades about nutrition, which includes that dietary cholesterol plays a big part in fasting blood cholesterol level or heart disease, or that saturated fats cause heart disease. Without going into a bunch of stuff like some others have, lifestyle(inactivity, lack of sleep, stress) and obesity(from such carb heavy diets) is why disease is so rampant.

I am a big advocate for a keto diet. I think it can be sustainable and healthy however just like any diet, you have to avoid junk food oil and fats .

I have seen a lot of Registered Dieticians attack the diet with accusations based off of bad studies or no studies at all. This is the first dietician that I feel accurately evaluated the diet, it's pros and cons. While there may be some argument with her answer, the argument is based on the validity of the science, biology and studies and not her personal beliefs.

If you want video advise from a dietician, this is the right channel.

I've been on keto for years and didnt even know it. I eat primarily steak and eggs for every meal and drink gin and tonic instead of soda.

good video and you're funny BUT the background music ruined the video. people are coming here to see you and hear what you have to say. the background music made it hard to hear you and was just annoying. it would be like holding a piece of paper in front of your face. it just interferes with the message. i would suggest completely leaving out all music. remember we are here to see you not background music.

Yet another Dietitian who is away with the fairies when it comes to actual knowledge about diet and the human body. Lets start with cholesterol. You will live longer with higher cholesterol than lower but it has to be LDL not VLDL, and you only get an increase of VLDL on a high carb diet. That, coupled with the inflammation caused by carbs in the diet and you get your poor old cholesterol desperately trying to heal you. But it can't because the inflammation is ongoing and the VLDL is not only the wrong kind but has been oxidized by the carbs in your diet. That is what causes plaque in the arteries not fat or red meat and there is loads of science on this subject which she hasn't bothered to seek out read and understand before making this video.

Keto flu is carb withdrawal not a direct response to ketones in the body. People get it in the early days because they are not quite sure what to eat yet and are withdrawing from carbs big style. They often just need more salt but have been made afraid of it. Not everyone gets keto flu as many people do the study before they start keto.

As carbs are not essential in the diet neither is fibre and in fact many studies again have shown that removing it completely from the diet causes favourable gut health. Particularly in people who suffer IBS.

Fat cannot be easily over consumed on keto it is too satiating. However, a typical keto diet is at least 75% fat and that is always coming from animals fats. Seed oils are toxic in every way. They cause widespread inflammation and also go straight into fat cells. The gall bladder is designed to work with animal fats and will become weak and full of sludge and stones if it is not used either by consuming seed oils or from a low fat diet because you aren't using it. Then when you do binge on a fattier food it will try to squeeze out the bile and because it is weak and blocked up it hurts like hell. Many people lose their gall bladders due to the diet this lady recommends and once removed you can still easily do a keto diet with very high fat believe it not, it makes no difference. Far better not to damage you gall bladder with seed oils and a low fat diet in the first place though.
You only get reverse electron transport with a high saturated fat diet. This is when the body actually makes more Mitochondria in the cells and speeds up metabolism, unlike on every low fat diet where the body slows down the metabolism to prevent weight loss. We evolved eating saturated fat in high quantities, we only started using seeds oils in the early 1900's and it has been a major cause of ill health and cancers ever since. This is also information that is in the public domain and this lady hasn't bothered to read it before spouting away on this video and worst of all to her patients, who she is actually harming with her bad dietary advice.

There is no nutritional deficiency from not eating carbs. In fact they contain anti nutrients which prevent the absorption of many nutrients and on a well formulated keto diet you actually get far more nutrients of every kind not less.

There is loads of clinical trial studies on the keto diet showing it to be exceptionally healthy they have been suppressed because keto does not make money for food, drugs and medical professionals. We evolved on it and there's also plenty of fossil and human remains digs sites more recently in our history showing we thrived on it, which is why we are here today. Check out the ancient Egyptians who lived on a diet that this lady is actually recommending. They had rampant tooth decay, and coronary heart disease from early into their lives. All post agricultural people's suffered horrendous iron deficiency disease from eating a grain based diet all pre-agricultural people's were far healthier with only slight deficiency signs from occasional lack of nutrients not from the womb onward as all post agricultural people's showed. There is simply no truth in anything said in this video because the current dietary guidelines were based on lies and never clinically tested. So if she wants to spout about not knowing enough due to lack of clinical trials then she only has the diet she is advocating to look to for that. There have been a great many clinical trials done on the low carb and keto way of eating all of which have shown remarkable health benefits only they get suppressed due to lack of profit from them. As Dietitians and Nutritionists are taught the current dietary guidelines which are based on utter piffle this lady, and all like her, spent years getting a degree in utter piffle. This is why everything coming out of her mouth right now is, yes you guessed it, utter piffle!!

The Agoge diet works best for losing fat. I tried the keto diet but it was very difficult to stick with and very hurting on the body.

Keto diet takes away a food group? Are you insane? What food group beside Processed Food Groups, which are Bad for you anyway, does it take away? You're still eating all the Macronutrients (protein, carbs, and fats) with exceptions. Yes, you stop eating the foods high in carbs and substitute it with veggies, which are low in carbs. You can still it fruits so long as the name ends in "berry" such Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc, . period. What credential do you have to even sprout off such Idiotic Nonsense? Have you even tried KETO? If not then you shouldn't speak ill of something you've never even put to your research. SMFH! 💯💯💯😡😡
