How To Accelerate Your Car Quickly | Learn to drive: Intermediate skills

Sometimes we may need to accelerate our car quickly, such as when joining a dual carriageway, or overtaking slower traffic. To achieve the best acceleration, we must do more than simply push the accelerator down fully - so, in this video, we will show you what to do in a manual, automatic or even electric car.

I just managed to pass my driving test 1st time today with only 5 minors in a manual car! Very useful video, you guys should of mentioned joining a motorway from a service station as they almost always have short slip road. I always teach my students how to accelerate quickly for these reasons.

I’ve always wanted to know how to take off really quickly, because other cars are leaving me in the dust when the lights turn green at intersections. I presume they’re driving automatics and using that kick-down feature. I realise we have to accelerate into the high rev range, but the engine becomes so loud and scary, and pedestrians and drivers around u will think you’re angry or in a bad mood, but I shall do it anyway!
