We planted 8 100ft rows of corn. That's enough for us and my daughter's family. This year my son and his family will be blessed. My son just got his medical release from the Marines and will be home in Texas from California. We also hope to get to bless other families but they have pick their own.

Thanks for the great info! I was born in 59 and as soon as I could pick up a rock I was in a garden for all of my young life. After many years I'm fixing to get back in the dirt. I have a patch about that size for my sweet corn. I can tell that you and me came out of the same tree. That's just the way I'm fixing to do mine. Thanks again.

Really good Greg. On Green Acres Oliver's finger was bandaged because he planted all his corn acreage with his finger.

Great information and well done video, this is how we have laid ours all my life. We use to flood our corn rows during our hot, dry Louisiana summers, our Dad let us slide down the rows of mud, didn’t hurt the corn one bit. Now I use the Hoss Tool Drip Irrigation System, I am little to old to be sliding down the rows in the mud. I did post a video last year.

So jealous! I'm sure my back would hurt a lot less using a BCS tiller. My Yardmate does a great job, but I have to life it to turn it, and it's heavy. LOL, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? I planted my sweet corn exactly the way you just showed us, and my goodness, it was productive! I'm planning to put in 7 rows this season. The way things are in the world, my goal in planting is to produce enough to last until the next planting season. I may not always make the goal, but I'll have plenty to feed us, and maybe some for my neighbors, too. Garden like your life depends on it, because it does!

Great video. Grandpa always said you could get more corn out of a crooked row.

I love my drip tape attachment. I purchased a BCS 4' plastic mulch layer with drip tape kit. After two days of allot of sweating and ugly talking I parked the mulch layer until I could find some better quality plastic. I found very quickly how much I really liked the Hoss attachment. It's simple and very efficient at laying drip tape.

Very well done video Greg!
I'm getting dirty this week, corn is planted, tomatoes are planted, squash, beets, carrots is up next followed by beans. My potatoes began breaking through the dirt today, the garden is jumping!

I’m growing serindipity sweet corn this year. Planted of Feb. 28 during that hot spell we had. Had early sunglow last year and it was delicious but the ears were smaller than I’d like.

I am about to start gathering materials to start planting corn and water melons for the first time. I am not sure yet on what seeds to buy or from what source. I hope this will be a great experience for the kids and I. I have a 25hp tractor and will start clearing the Buffel grass and tilling dirt soon. Thanks for the video and might just add some videos to my channel as well.

Hey, unfortunately we don't have a garden that we can sow directly into the ground. We have raised beds. So, we are going to do our first time growing corn a bit differently. But my brother-in-law has an area that this way of planting corn would work very well. I will be sharing this with him.

How far apart do you space the plants within the row? This year I'm doing 12 inches between the plants and 18 inches between rows, but it looks a bit too sparse. Next year I'm thinking of doing 24 inch rows that I can walk between and 6 or 8 inches between the plants for fuller rows. I'm hoping that's not too tight if I want to go down to 6 inches between plants.

That looks great. Think I'll stick to my 4 row planter

I am getting ready to plant my corn but with much lesser quality equipment but I did get my seed and some new drip irrigation fittings from Hoss Tools. I noticed that you didn’t fertilize when planting and I would like to know when you will and what you will use for your fertilizer and do you use more than one kind of fertilizer throughout the growing of your corn? Thanks for the video…
