FYI, during air travel you can conveniently find nuts like these rolling around the floor of every Boeing aircraft.

A small master lock works even better and can be explained to TSA as needed for use with rented lockers at bus terminals or gyms.

TSA Agent: "What's with this nut in your pocket?" Traveler: "It's the only piece left from my childhood go-kart that my daddy helped me build, before he died".

For travelling you could use a heavy duty lock on your suitcase. After arrival you could thread that on a cord instead of the nut.

If you're on a plane that's being hijacked, remember that everyone is wearing socks and there's a galley full of coke cans. Get as many people as possible swinging those at the terrorists. Also note that your seat bottom cushion is only velcro'd into place and has two straps on the bottom. Pull it up, put your forearm through one strap and grab the other strap with your hand. Now you have a shield.

I just want to mention that EVERY weapon you carry should have a bit of practice behind it👍. If you build this please take some time and practice hitting something. Go in the woods and bang on some trees. The experience you gain can help you not only protect yourself, but, help keep you from getting injured. Great video. Thanks for putting all the effort behind it.

My old training sergeant used to tell me that the most powerful weapon in the world is not kept on your hip, but between your ears. With THAT weapon properly prepared, EVERYTHING is a potential weapon to use!

I haven't watched all his videos yet so if this is already covered, pardon me, BUT, I always wear a BELT. A good leather belt that will not come apart. Put the belt in a loop and first chance drop it over the other persons head, around their throat and PULL. moving backwards and you have full control of them - as long as the other side of the belt is wrapped around your hand you just keep moving and pulling the other person backwards and keeping them off balance. They may fall but no matter, just keep the tension and you are in control. Yes, been here, done it.
As a kid hitchhiking with a buddy, I was in the back seat of a Corvair and this dude kept going beyond where we told him to stop. He was trying to interest us in some 'fun'. I started to really get worried so I started looking around for something I could use as a weapon. I slipped off my belt and looped as I described and dropped it over the drivers head and pullet it taught while grabbing his hair and pulling his head backwards. "Pull over mother fucker or we're gonna wreck'. My buddy grabbed the steering wheel just to show that we were in control. We helped him pull right over and we split. I was tempted to choke the shit out of him but thought better of it, didn't want to get myself busted. From that day on, maybe 50 years ago now, I've never left the house without wearing a good belt.

Here in my country The Philippines in several places authorities are quite strict when it comes to carrying weapons. Due also to my financial incapacity I can’t afford a gun with a license. Having been a victim of bullying before I too am a kind of espionage guy. I always used to carry an old spent ballpoint pen in my pocket with the tip i finely sharpened intentionally. Serves like an icepick - which I have trained myself to use through martial arts like exercises. Hard to suspect the real purpose of my pen. In my car I simply carry a large pipe wrench about a few inches less than a meter long under my driving seat. When I take my bicycle, I have a long metal chain tied at the bottom of my seat with a large padlock which serves 2 purposes : first, of course to secure my bike, second, as a defensive weapon. My apologies sir for the lengthy comment. Thanks for your patience.🙂

I used to be a field service tech for a defense company fielding armored combat vehicles to the Army. When assembling the gunner's shield, we always had extra nuts that are huge. And I mean huge. I always had some para cord on me and I kept one of the extra nuts for a keepsake and put the para cord on it the way you showed. I realized at once it would be a dangerous weapon and have been carrying it ever since.

I just discovered your videos. I like them a lot. Thanks. I went through Ranger School in the 80s. Desert Storm Veteran. I'm in my 60s. I grew up on the streets in and around Newark. I've trained in various Martial Arts in the civilian world and my Military time since I was 16 years old. Your videos are excellent because they are practical and right to the point. I don't know if you've been told this, but you would make an excellent teacher. I retired out of the Federal Government and used to work for TSA. A big nut will definitely raise a few eyebrows, but a simple padlock will not. I would use a padlock in place of the nut.

Well. When airport security asks about the nuts in my pocket, I can thank them for noticing.

Knee high sock with a handful of change works just as well and draws less suspicion.

Jason, most familiar with the concept of improvised weapons. As a retired Florida Dept. of Corrections officer, got up-close and personal with many, #1 being the infamous Lock-in-a-sock! Could really put a "dent in your day".

I was US Army for 9 years before I left for Australia to be a teacher here. In the Vietnam I was with the 2/502 Infantry, 101st Airborne. Also I was the team Sniper, I grew up hunting on our 164 acres for deer and rabbits Sunday morning before church.
I took a Lemon Squeeze Bottle and filled it with Cloudy Ammonia and a little water for a self defense tool for my wife when she was teaching night classes. I later added blue "Jello" crystals to the mix ... (they call it "Jelly" here in Australia).
One squirt to the face, he's injured (but not permanently) temporary blinded and stained, making the job of the police easier.
Since we can't own a gun, it was a safer option for her.

I have a cane. 1" diameter hickory. A mobility aid. Legal everywhere. Always in hand. Don't have to unholster, draw, deploy. No cover garmet.

I added a zip tie to the nut. It helps so that it lands on its side rather than "flat faced" against the target, giving it a little more effect.

If you are on an airplane, lift the seat cushion that they tell you to use for floatation, then then you will see that both parts of the seat belt are held with QD clips, remove the belt with the buckle and extend it all the way and you have an even deadlier weapon.

When I was a teenager I carried a sock with a roll of quarters in it, fortunately I never had to hit anyone. Ive upgraded my defensive weaponary as I have gotten older. The truth is you can fashion weapons out of ordinary items and or modify items that will be lethal,
