In order to answer the question, “What do Filipinos eat for breakfast?,” Blessy and I interviewed a few Filipinos in Italy and the Philippines. We wanted to find out what constitutes a Filipino breakfast for Filipinos living in the Philippines and abroad. The Filipino breakfast is typically heavy, almost always including rice. As you watch the video, notice how the Filipino breakfast is redefined due to a shift in location. In both countries, what seemed universal in the Filipino breakfast is the coffee. Although the kind of coffee varied.

Aside from attempting to answer the question, “What do Filipinos eat for breakfast?,” we also wanted to know if there are any changes in the Filipino language due to the change in the environment.

Since I'm in love with a Pinay, I've been adopting some Pinoy eating habits, though I know my version of Filipino foods has to be far from authentic. I make a bunch of different silog type breakfasts on the mornings that I have enough time.

As it happens, I have Italian ancestry e parlo Italiano un poco. That's how I make my kape every morning.
