This is why, as a fan of 2D animation, I NEVER trash computer animators, especially companies like Pixar who clearly put a lot of time, effort and devotion in their projects. I hope Finding Dory turns out to be good.

Frigging awesome. And some people think CGI animation looks "lazy".
Also, Hank was mesmerizing to watch. Easily my new favorite Pixar character. All that work definitely paid off!

The challenge with Hank is he's basically a pantomime character with (mostly) no visible mouth. He therefore communicates all his emotion with expression and body language.

Before seeing the movie I already felt sorry for the animators. It would be like animating 8 characters stuck together at the same time while keeping him anatomically correct, and retaining the liveliness of the character

When I saw the title of this video (I haven't seen this film), my first thought was that this was about complexity of _characterisation_. I was like, "Wait, what? An octopus is their best-written character?" And within moments of starting the video, I was like "Oh."
