Boeing factory workers voted Wednesday to reject the company’s latest contract offer and to continue a six-week strike that has halted production of the aerospace giant’s bestselling jetliners.

Local union leaders in Seattle said the proposal fell short of the majority of support needed from members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers who cast ballots on Wednesday.

The offer, which was rejected by 64% of employees, included pay raises of 35% over four years.

The version that union members rejected when they voted to strike last month featured a 25% increase over four years.

The union, which initially demanded 40% pay boosts over three years, said the annual raises in the revised offer would total 39.8% when compounded.

Not actually MACHINIST !! I am a machinist, they are not. High percentage are trained on the job, skilled yes, but not machinists.

Why is legalized extortion allowed in the U.S. when even the Federal Government doesn't allow its employees to go on strike? This horrific act needs to be changed for everyone's benefit....or do you like toilet paper shortages during a Port strike?

Boeing needs to figure out how to send the work to other factories and get production going again, these workers are over playing their hands. Once they loose their jobs they may re-apply to Boeing

This is exactly what they deserve.
Don't let Boeing off the hook!

Didn’t they have issues with mechanists getting injured constantly, and overworked?

I have a suggestion and direction on how to
change the company's culture

Reinstate the Boeing Pension and you will
start the path to recovery and changing the
culture for the better.

When the pension was lost in 2014 this company ripped the soul out of the mechanics.

A little history, Boeing was always the cream
of the top.
You had a Pension & 401k & Good Medical
and engineering worked hand and hand with
mechanics.

Mr. Kelly Orthberg if you want to start important to the company's employee

lol. At some point it will be cheaper to just move production to Tennessee. Good luck working at Taco Bell, machinists.

Stop DEI hiring so the planes stop falling to the ground, then they might be worth it.

Looked like a fantastic deal, but they turned it down. No more sympathy for them.

The CEOs are laughing all the way to the bank. "If it is a Boeing we are not going."

Offer them the pension so they vote it through and then go bankrupt so you dont have to pay it out to them.

Deal was pretty decent especially with what the company is going through? Seems like people are getting greedy.

Boeing is going to go out of business 😅.

If the pension is the uncompromising demand then this will likely result in Boeing moving manufacturing out of Washington. Pensions are no longer the way businesses fund retirement. Across industries 401k plans are now the common approach - the financial markets want that to get better predictability of future corporate obligations. That ship has sailed.

Shut down 2 years. Pink Slip ALL of them. Re-employ on individual contract, no union, start up again. Stuff them!

Easy Econ 101 just add a 0 ( Zero) to everything.. workers could make $ave 865000 p/y and a can of chili would cost $18.90 .. everybody is happy :)

We don’t hate our jobs, we don’t want Boeing to lose money. We just want to be treated better.

Demanding a raise from a company losing money is of questionable value. As an former union shop steward, AFL-CIO 381, I am not sure what they think they will get. Their union picked the wrong moment for this fight.
