Not even close to making up for 16 years of stagnant wages. Try again!

Wow this is coming from the union leader that recommended the first contract.

A win for the workers could be a win for Boeing in the long run. They need to capitalize on the expertise of their workers now.

This contract is about the same as the first

They wanted it to pass so the CEO can save face because of todays earnings report and thats it

He tried to screw the workers and dangle 12k in their faces

.. horrible deal....

I quit Boeing in 2020 to start my business after working there for 8.5 years. People don’t get that the machinists have a real hatred for Boeing management (especially at the top). They have been through a ton of things over the years as described in the video. I wish the union guys the best but Hope it doesn’t go so far as to bankrupt the company.

It was crisis day in Congress, the House was hushed and still
As a Member rose with a question: “Are we doomed to go downhill”
“I am confident of an upturn the Speaker made reply:
“If workers pay is held at bay, we’ll all be home and dry”

“How true! How true! cried the workers, “Let’s end this wicked strike
We don’t want a raise in wages, they can stick it where they like”
“Thank God! Thank God”! sobbed the bosses, “There’s faith on the factory floor,
And now we’ve got this extra loot we’ll give it to the poor!”

They filled their pockets with money and ran with eager feet
Pressing their surplus profits on the people in the street
They moved among the Welfare queues and boarded every bus
With streaming eyes and heartfelt cries: “You need it more than us!”

Soon all the people prospered and the Devil became a Saint
Now that the sober Unions had exercised restraint
And the Cities were filled with singing and the sound of laughter spread
As hand took hand in the Golden land, and pigs flew overhead.

This more than about pensions the engineers need to be back and more involved with the workers. Some employees did speak up regarding the sub par parts only to be shut down...add that to the fact boeing cut back on QA's. That door issue is not on the majority of the machinists. Calhoun blamed the lack of skilled employees LIE....just like Boeing tried blaming the pilots after those two planes crashed... now we know it was a software issue.. the employees want to be heard! They want to build the safest latest and greatest airplanes in the world! Boeing has got to get back into that arena and less about stock margins and stock buyback. Not only were the employees dishonestly blamed then add in all the other factors.
Stagnant wages while the economy skyrocketed in costs. Stagnant wages while minimum wage was raised for new hires. Compounded with the higher costs in medical, dental and eyecare benefits. All of this and then you add the loss of the pension. No one talks about the fact that the employees voted to reject before they went on their negotiated holiday breaks. The vote was done. Then the union big wigs demanded another vote while a large amount of people weren't there, and were not notified to cast their vote. That is how the pensions were lost! Not only were they lost there was a comment made from thr c suite that he had the workers cowering with the threat of taking the next plane somewhere else. The workers are exhuasted from all the designated overtime, Stagnant wages, and total disrespect by those who have become millionaires off the backs of these underpaid disrespected machinists. This is more than the pension loss... this is about so much more in that contract that failed to meet the NEEDS (not demands or greed) of the machinists...

The reality is that many of these employees may not have a company to go back to at least in the long-term. Boeing has already proved on other major programs like the 787. They are willing to take it out of Seattle to avoid these kind of strikes from impacting the company. Another example flight training move from Seattle to Miami, including flight simulators

Fighting for the future of future employees working for the company is more what it looks like. Boeing cut 17k jobs already. I think its incredibly selfish to use people who will inevitably lose their jobs to fight your fight. For 5% more and a Pension that will never return. If they were fighting for the jobs that were cut as well I'd understand but theyre not.

These bozos don't want to understand pension will never come back. There are moving parts to the pension that addd to the costs. If you must have pensions go work for the post office! On accelerated 401K i am making over 4000/day and no pension will do this.!

A pension isn't that expensive. Boeing is acting like it'll bankrupt them. Just give that one point and they will probably approve it. Quit playing games with your business. Every day is a day your competition moves ahead of you.

Why did the union accept the contract that eliminated their pension?

Very disappointed on this latest rejection. Both sides are showing a lot of greed and when you have innocent non-union workers affected by this battle between the two sides it makes for a very discouraging dynamic

All that crying for a pension that didn't happen. LOL. Guess you'll be with me at the unemployment office soon. These people have minimal intelligence if they don't see that on the horizon. Good luck on $350 a week....hahaha
