It's so good to see people doing stuff for free and yet trying so hard to get it implemented... all for the community...

it's great to "know and see" an actual KDE developer and see his work make it to the final product. Nice work!!

This sounds like a good way to allow alternatives to the default KDE experience.

Really excited for the touchpad gestures. I've been using screen edges for workspace switching (outside of keyboard shortcuts of course), but this will be a game changer imo!

I'm so excited for the new release! There are just so many nice additions. Thanks for the good work, on Plasma and on this channel! Btw, I like the respect you show to other developers by not showcasing their unfinished work, but instead only the stuff that is finished. With the stuff being worked on, I can imagine that takes some self restraint :^Þ

Why Plasma 5.25 will be the biggest release - *korner fix*

Sometimes I feel that some distros would be better as just themes in KDE. The fact that defaulting panels makes this more possible.

As much as I like certain aspects of GNOME; Plasma is far ahead in terms of adding in features that people actually want and that significantly improve the desktop experience. They also develop at a much faster pace and put a lot more care into ensuring GTK+ apps are themed as closely as possible to QT :D

Thank you and the other devs that contribute your free time to the development of plasma.

You wont believe what a valuable service you are doing with those videos. A developer speaking about how/when/if things are done, providing insight from the, well, inside is extremely important. Gnome never does this. They keep things on their gits or whatever, and it always FEELS like they are a company developing behind closed doors and users have to just accept what comes out in the end.
Here, its much different. As someone following UI/UX design closely and being interested in the process of development itself, KDE community feels MUCH more open, welcoming and, as Nate stated, "anarchic, but in a positive sense". In the past, when I reported a bug or had an idea, I was always met with open arms, and never did I hear "No, we dont do that here". Never have I experienced condescending behavior and in turn, I meet everyone with respect, too. This community is Kool indeed!

I did know about the check box for the desktop layout, but I never have latte dock installed so that's why I never check that box. This is a great change though

I hope they will implement grouping of icons into folders like Gnome overview

Will there be any performance tweaks? or any optimizations for Wayland?

I don't know where's the best place to suggest features for KDE products, but one thing I would love to see is more automated/quick visual effects in Kdenlive similar to Final Cut. For example, like a Earthquake effect that shakes the selected clip you have and you can change the amount duration it has and the magnitude of the shake.

What I care about are stability and good fonts. That's it.

I want Plasma 5.25 to be released. Because it will bring so much features. And I think rolling release distributions would be first to get it.

for me the most important aspects of DE is consistency and stability. and no matter how much I want to love kde, it keeps falling short on both of these for me for the last 10 years
