One of the best 80s teen flicks with everything the viewer's wanted and needed.

A drunken Michael Hall in the bar with the soul brothers is still one of my favorite memories of this classic 😂😂..and SO happy that LeBrock came on eventually 😍

Turning one of the heads into a donkey is a reference to "A Midsummer Night's Dream", which, in the context of this movie, makes PERFECT sense. The Lisa character is also very "Puck-ish", the fairy trickster who drives the plot.

Thanx for the follow-up review. As a nerd myself creating Kelly LeBrock would have been a perfect dream fulfiller.

Enjoyed the extra information, but she didn't turn chet into Poo. She turned him into a toad. Thus the fly eating scene. There was another decent movie that came out around the same time called "My Science Project" if you haven't already it would be a good one for you to check out.

I love the part where, after driving the biker mutants away, Gary is casually swinging the revolver around and everyone at the party keeps ducking.

It's also funny that Gary defeats the lead mutant by just threatening him with a gun while it took an entire team of Rangers to defeat him in Power Rangers Time Force.

I still love the fact that Bill Paxton just showed up on set with that haircut under no direction

How bout a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray ? Still to this day I use that line to people with hangovers. R.I.P. Bill one of my all time favorite actors.

John Hughes has given us so many classic, deeply loved films, seems he couldn't put a foot wrong in the 80s

A few years ago, I went to Northbrook Court, where the scenes at the mall were filmed. Sadly, the anchor store (Marshall Field's, then Macy's) the infamous Slurpee scene takes place in front of is no longer there. Just felt so empty...

This film needs NO reboot/squeal - it's already great and well worth watching. - Thanks for doing this more episode, look forward to a "Even More" vid. :)

When you talk about Hughes directing Weird Science if he were allowed to direct The Breakfast Club, there is a brief clip of a scene with Emilio Estevez holding a paper grocery bag with Happy Foods and a big Smiley Face on it. Something you probably did not know is that store, Happy Foods does actually exist. While Hughes loved to use the imaginary city/town of Shermer, Happy Foods has two locations with one in the Edgebrook neighborhood of Chicago, and the other a few miles away in Park Ridge (a close suburb of Chicago). That was a really cool shout out to his "Chicago roots" that only a few would recognize.

Great re-review, Mark. I was just the right age when this came out in Sydney in December of 1985. Kelly Le Brock was a poster girl right next to Elle McPherson on my wall.

One of my favorite films and songs too...

Oingo Boingo - Weird Science

From my heart and from my hand,
Why don't people understand
My intentions?

(Weird science)
Plastic tubes and pots and pans
Bits and pieces and
Magic from the hand
We're making

(Weird science)
Things I've never seen before
Behind bolted doors
Talent and imagination

(Weird science)
Not what the teacher said to do
Makin' dreams come true
Living tissue; warm flesh

(Weird science)
Plastic tubes and pots and pans
Bits and pieces
Bits and pieces

(Bits of)
My creation, is it real?
It's my creation—I do not know
No hesitation—no heart of gold
Just flesh and blood—I do not know

From my heart and from my hand,
Why don't people understand
My intentions, ooh, weird
Weird science!

(Weird science)
Magic and technology
Voodoo dolls and chants
Electricity
We're makin'

(Weird science)
Fantasy and microchips
Shooting from the hip
Something different
We're makin'

(Weird science)
Pictures from a magazine
Diagrams and charts
Mending broken hearts (and makin')

(Weird science)
Something like a recipe
Bits and pieces
Bits and pieces

This movie, along with the Breakfast Club, War Games, E.T., the true original Star Wars trilogy, Ghostbusters, and a few others, helped to define us older Gen X'ers as a whole.
