Why do Christians believe in the 'Trinity'?

This video is not intended to be an exhaustive teaching on the trinity, but to help simplify this truth that is found in Scripture.

As said in the video, we (Christians) believe in God's triune nature (ie the trinity) because we have no choice. If we consistently interpret Scripture with Scripture, and accept who God is for who He's revealed Himself as all throughout the Bible, we can only come to the conclusion that just as the Father is, so the Son is also God, and the Holy Spirit is also God. And with Scripture being clear that there is only ONE God, the conclusion we come to is that God's nature is triune.

This is the type of argument non Christians come up with all the time. So they are either honest or are trolls. Is it worth investing your time into them? To be honest, they will come up to you with the same speech no matter how many times you're going to explain it. Maybe a good advise is to be wise responding to them. I'm starting to get tired of them as well. The thing is we don't have to justify ourselves to them. What is written is written no matter what detractors have to say.

Great video with great examples. A cool point to also bring up is that the nature of human beings reflects the nature of God. We are made in His image. A human has a mind, a body, and a spirit; but is one person. In the same way, God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; but He is one God.

Can we think of the word "God" as like a family name, a surname, or a title? I think it makes more sense that way. Because when we worship God in general we aren't worshipping a specific person, it's the trinity.

It is an attribute of God that He is triune. It is also an attribute of God that He is omnipresent and omnipotent, but those words are not used in the Bible either. We use the word trinity because it describes Gods triune nature. “ONE” God who is described in the Bible as three distinct persons. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
