How to Create Desktop Shortcuts in Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS

Hello Everyone in this video, we will learn how to add desktop shortcuts on Ubuntu OS.

Commands:
To add trash on desktop:

to remove the trash icon from desktop:

to remove trash from dock:

to add trash to the dock

finnaly a tutorial that works, i was so annoyed that there wasnt just a button for that when you right click, or some other tutorials telling me to do it in a text editor

Ctrl + Shift does nothing for me. I don't have an option to create a shortcut when I right-click on a folder. And `ln -s /home/path/to/folder ~/Desktop` creates broken links

Thanks man. Gnome is a fantastic desktop, very customizable, modern and reliable, too bad they don't natively integrade "add to desktop" entry from context menu when you click on a file/app. Luckily though, it's Linux so we eventually find workarounds :D

This did not work for me. Pressed and held Control Shift then left mouse button dragged folder to desktop, released finger from mouse button. That moved everything to the desktop. Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS

It's fine, but there's got to be a better way than this to do such menial tasks...

I don't know if people realize this, but we have full icon drag and drop management over 30 years in OS/2, yet here we are, in an age of artificial intelligence, having to trudge through creating icons in a modern day OS like this - makes no sense whatsoever ...
