When there are 3 empty cells in a block, once you have solved one of the empty cells you are left with the famous matching pair, which by now we know is important when solving sudoku puzzles.

Between leaving the rigors of the workforce and being quarantined during the Coronavirus, I’ve felt I was losing ground both physically and cognitively. I have a Sudoku book I bought years ago and began working the puzzles, but it’s one of those with “easy” puzzles that are actually difficult. I have been playing sudoku for years but I normally get stuck when I do some advanced puzzles. I think I’ve improved simply by looking at the way you put the small numbers. In the past, I wouldn’t put 2 small numbers within a block if they were not within the same row/column. However, what you did in 1:53 changed my habit. By doing that (putting small numbers within a block even if they’re placed diagonally), it helps me find other matching pairs further down the road. That’s really cool and I’m looking for other techniques when I watch the later lessons. Thank you 🙏🏻

Idea...the green area to the left, have a digital puzzle (use Excel), so we can see it when you are standing in front of it.
