I can confirm this actually works. Also holding it down for longer than 20 seconds works too. I held mine for 60 seconds then Remote Connected message appeared on the left bottom corner. Thanks 🙏

This worked like a charm. I was stupid and downloaded the Amazon fire TV app on my phone, and as soon as I did that it unpaired the remote. I didn't have as much trouble as he seemed to have had, it worked for me the first try.
