The only problem is it's nearly all focused on React. The best thing is that you can move on to a better lang like c# and such

Most widely used also means most easily replaced by AI.
Its fairly easy and a great intro, if you want to learn it go for it, but job prospects I predict will only decline.

What about reading k&r and learning ANSI C so you can compile it to WASM for a front-end web development position instead of learning html and JavaScript? Would this be a good idea for someone who is new to programming like me

You should not learn JavaScript if you're not doing, or going to do web development.
JavaScript has lack common with C and c++.
It's is not powerful language and isn't even compiled by any compiler (I guess). The JavaScript concepts are not universal, some of them may be used in other languages.
