I asked for my boss in 2012 when I was a junior. What language/framework do I need to study? He said: Learn JavaScript.

And on top of that, it's easier to pivot to strongly typed languages like Java, Rust, etc from JavaScript than it would be to pivot from Python

True true true. I think lots of beginners focus WAYYYY to much time on HTML and CSS it’s important and good to know. But you shouldn’t devote all your time on it and never get to understanding JS. They are simple and you can literally Google it and find out how to do it. You can learn them in 2-3 hours or less for most people. I tell students to learn vanilla JavaScript first then move onto HTML and CSS that way they can hyper focus on those two.

I just watched your Python video where you suggested to learn AWS and Python. At the end of that video this video arrived where you are suggesting "just to learn JavaScript." Haha

I think statements like these are always so weird. So many languages cover the topics you mention, its just that some do some things better and some things worse than other languages. Dont get me wrong, JS is a decent starting point, but there are others too. Going with C++ and C# is going to teach modern programming pattern better, since those are either build into the languages DNA or the language gives you enough freedom to cleanly do so.

JS is good, but others are good too. What language you should learn depends on what kind of job youre aiming at, what kind of knowledge and experience you already have with the matter, how much time and motivation you have and what companies you want to apply at. For example: It likely doesn't make much sense at all to learn JS if youre interested in very hardware near software development.

From my experience starting off with C++, a touch of Python and mostly C# and now starting to learn JS and Angular: I can say that learning modern and clean pattern properly in C#/C++ by trying to realize own projects and projects at my company for customers getting into anything else is pretty easy. Most issues I face are technicalities specific to JS, like syntax or language details. I am not sure whether I would have been as successful at learning the job if I would have started with JS.

That said, again JS is great and web is great too. There are many jobs for that area and its for sure a very interesting branch that can be a lot of fun.

I love python, but since learning solidity and block chain I have to learn js for front end, and maybe the middle. Brownie-Eth is very good, but hard hat is very popular. You can also use brownie react-mix, but js is needed.

If you want to do anything with the web just focus on JS at first util you're really good with. After that it's easier to pick up a new language. Just get good first before mixing it up.

Python can do that too, and easier to read.
