Duke Avocado Taste Test

Today I taste test a Duke avocado! Duke avocado's originate from Mexico, but they're grown in California and Florida, likely among other places.

Video on Duke avocado origin (plus a little more on getting the trees in CA):

PDF with info on Duke avocado growth habit and more:

What's great about Duke is you can eat the skin! The duke avocado skin is thin and it doesn't interfere with the nutty flavored fruit :)

I'm excited to see this avocado being grown in Florida. The more diversity the better and I have been lucky to try avo's with edible skins and I love em!!

Hi Alex! Thx for the great info on your Duke avo taste test. I’m live in the St. Augustine, FL area and have been experimenting with grafting cold-hardy avos suitable for this area’s cold winters and hot and humid summers, and I’d really like to know more about where in Florida these fruit were grown. I’d like to get connected with the grower and maybe acquire some scion wood and seeds. I’m interested because of its fruit quality and potential suitability for this are as well as for sentimental reasons as I was born in Butte County, California where this variety was first propagated. Thx in advance for any info you can provide!

I would like a Duke avo but I don't really want to eat the skin.
