1982 here; never felt like I fit in with the Millennials, and found myself nodding in agreement with so much here.

1978 here. Have always felt our generation was the best, just didn’t have a name for it until a few years ago. Analog childhood, digital adulthood!

Xennial is the best generation. Old enough to remember no technology and booming technology. We are the generation who’s able to appreciate the iPhone and also able put it down and go outside. The sound of my modem connecting is the mating call of my people.

Born in 1979, graduated high school in 1998. We are indeed a very unique micro-generation. We took the good from both Gen X and Y, and ditched the bad from both as well.

1977. Growing up all I ever heard was I was in generation x, but I always felt we were different. My cousin was born in 1970 she had a different experiences then I did. My mom had my little brother when she was 40 he was born in 93 he is a Millennium. I can never identify with that group. I am old enough to remember playing outside with friends having snow ball battles, but I am young enough to remember when Atari, Sega Genesis, and Nintendo were the rage. I got my first cabbage patch kid in the Christmas of 84 I was so happy. I went to elementary school in the 80s and high school in the 90s class of 95. This is so interesting to know that we do exist.

I was born in 1976 and this fits me pretty well. Generational differences don't fit into boxes.

Yes, totally agreed. Nice summary of Xennials characteristics and that they are very important to the workplace.

Love love love this! I strongly agree and identify myself as a xennial. Always felt like I didn’t quite fit entirely with Gen X or millennials.

I was born in 1984 and I would put myself into this box. She ended this micro generation at 1983 but I have seen many end Xennials at 1985 which makes more sense to me. For instance my younger sister was born in 1988 and I put her in with Millennials. Because those 4 years really do make a huge difference as far as how much of the world you remember before and after the boom of the internet. For instance by 2000 when at home internet was really starting to become the norm I was already in high school and I had done a lot of homework going to the library and encyclopedias before using internet sources became acceptable. My younger sister on the other hand pretty much welcomed in the internet research era by the time she reached middle school and therefore had little to no library experience or going to the computer lab.

I had Hotmail and Friendster than migrated to Facebook but never got into Twitter and IG.

I leave my phone at home as much as I can on weekends. Born in 1980...

I was born in 1984 and yes, definitely part of the Oregon Trail Generation. I grew up thinking I was part of Gen X (albeit at the tail end)... but as the term "Millenial" started popping up, and reading articles on it, I'm technically in that category... there are aspects of both generations that speak to me, but I don't quite feel like I fit into either. The Oregon Trail/Xennial micro-generation makes sense to me.
I didn't get my first cell phone until I was in my early 20s. :-O

1976 and still have my ORIGINAL AOL email... we all still have MySpace, BTW... go check, it's there (at least it was a year or two ago). I still remember my phone number from when I was 5 and we've probably moved 8 times since then.

As someone born in 1977 this makes so much sense to me ☺️

Born in 81 and I am definitely no millennial. From analog to digital and to loving nirvana and not feeling entitled and working for everything that I have. The original gamers and the ones who played on the streets all day.

I’m an 83 baby. And a proud xennial. I was so lucky to be where I was at the time. Growing up in Chicago was freaking awesome at the time. But scary as well. With the rise of gangs and crazy shtuff. But I’m so proud of my generation. We will be picking up the pieces after y’all fd us up lol

1980 here so I'm in the smack dab middle of this. I definitely identify more with Millennials (they get a bad wrap and it really needs to stop) but this is so true. I feel like all of my friends who are older or younger than me are living in two different worlds... And honestly they are.

It's crazy because I always felt connected to both generations. I'm at the very end as I was born in 85. My wife was born at the very beginning in 1977.
