Worked at a job 6 years ago and during a town hall meeting, a member of the C-suite said "I want you all here in attendance to think about your jobs being made redundant in the next 18 months." Almost everyone laughed except me. I made preparations and started a business 3 months later then left that company. Many people that laughed it off were laid off 6-8 months after that same town hall meeting. These companies ain't loyal.

Job crisis, housing crisis, health crisis, cost of living crisis, debt crisis, inflation crisis, EU war crisis, middle East crisis, bank crisis, retirement crisis. How many crises can a koala bear?

A.I. doesn't buy a house, pay rent, or buy products or services. Humans do these things. These companies will eventually lay off their businesses. Companies have never been loyal. I got the email and exit interview in 2016 from an insurance company. 26 years of service.

The older workers will get laid off first because they are the most expensive in benefits and compensation. Golden parachutes for executives.

I work for a large bank... lets call them hells cargo... and they have laid off almost 3k people... just in this building!! Over the last 18 months. But for some reason, the massive layoffs in the banking industry have been crickets.

Sadly, my brother was laid off. He was pumping out numbers for Intel throughout SoCal.
He was the top earner until Intel sent him a email saying how good they were doing, and then a week later proceeded to lay him and his supervisor off these guys were running all the Best Buy stand of Intel and still need them off. Keep in mind the supervisor had 20+ years working .

I ran back to the office and I've been promoted twice since 2022. They've laid off about 70% of "WFH" dreamers. The remaining people work like hell from home in fear

That’s why as a software engineer, I work on my projects alone so I’m the only one that understands them. 🙃

Cant we just be honest???? The world is ending forever. The dollar is dead and so is everything that relies on it.

So, who do these CEO's think will be buying their products when these workers are laid off?? HuH? Huh??

A predicted million jobs lost(?). Now add that to millions of people being allowed into the U.S. if the current immigration policy continues.

I was talking to some of the older guys in my family and they were saying with all these layoffs and the prices being sky-high, there may end up being a new revolution. Remember the industrial revolution. The people have to consistently remind corporations that you have to give the consumers and your employees a deal otherwise they won't buy. People aren't currently buying as much because 1. They don't have the money or 2. They have the money and don't want to waste it

Yup, that's what happened at my work. A lot of the older workers and beginners were laid off back in March mass layoff. Slowly, there have been more layoffs over the months. Now the end of next week, I'm gonna be part of the chopping block with more folks when this company is shutting its doors and moving to another state with only like 5-6 employees left out of like 46 we had at the start of the year

I've been on this planet for 59 years. This is normal cycles. Especially after Covid. I have been gearing up for this since 2023. I have been through 3 terrible recessions. And I have learned a very simple truth. Live within your means and then take another 10%. Works for me of course and I cant speak for all but people act like they have no control over your own life. Great you knew 6 months ago. Good for you. Now tell that to the people who lost their jobs. I also have a unique skill that AI can't replace. Tech is its own worst enemy. Who invented AI?

Lie is such a strong word. The government did an "oopsie"

This was the case at my last job. They gave everyone over the age of 59 the choice to resign with a severance package before the lay offs, or stay on and get no package. My manager told me I wouldn’t be affected at the moment, but couldn’t guarantee the future.

Ive worked for 2 CSUITE guys I used to work for at two different companies get let go in the last 5 years. A CEO "asked to step down" and a CIO straight fired because he didn't work well with others. If you don't produce, you aren't safe, regardless of title. Layoffs are a time companies use not just to cut costs, but to rid themselves of non producers
